I was surprised when the manager Jessica told me I would be charged for the large half pepperoni pizza I ordered just a few minutes ago. I called to cancel my order because the cost just didn't sound good. I know the cost of everything is going up but $16.75 was more than I wanted to pay at that moment. I figured they could add pepperoni to the other half but when I called 4 mins later she told the pizza was already done and so I would be charged. I asked how they could charge me and Jessica explained that any time I would call in an order the $16.75 would be added to my order. I told her I would just never call again and she said that's fine but if you do there would be a charge. This was upsetting because I have been going to Sam's against my husband's request. He said they are getting too expensive. AND that I had canceled 4 mins after I placed the order. But the kicker was when I called 2 days later to speak to the owner to let him know a long time customer was not coming back the man I spoke with told me the pizza was done and that all the employees backed up Jessica that the pizza was done. Now there is no way of adding up the lost revenue. Rudeness is a requirement for working at Sam's Pizza and that's been true for many years. I've always looked past that but now I wonder why I put...
Read moreTheir pizza is about the only good thing about the place. We were dumb enough to try a “cheesesteak”. My advice is just don’t. We’ve lived in this area for 30 years & this business has thrived due to, I suppose, minimal other options. How they can’t afford to provide a genuine Italian roll for a cheesesteak is baffling. They choose to slap what tastes like day old dough into a tubular blob resembling a gigantic garden slug. Sliced lengthwise and sparingly sprinkled with coarsely sliced, fatty, chewy disgusting meat.
Their kitchen help supposedly put a small serving on a large “roll” for our $15+ cheesesteak. We drove the 7 miles home, opened the sandwich and turned right back around to get our money back. We left without dinner or the refund. The very young staff was ill equipped to handle the situation. We had to wait until the next day for a refund to be credited to our bank. An obligatory half hearted apology was left via voicemail.
Certainly indifferent about our wasted gas, wasted time and lack of a meal. These business owners lack the decency to even offer a free pizza or a lousy coupon for our inconvenience. They don’t deserve the...
