Rockin S & S Grill — Restaurant in Quitman

I was incredibly disappointed in this restaurant. Let's start with the seating layout of the restaurant. The table and chairs were so close together that everyone was sitting back to back with no room to walk between the tables without bumping into the customers and their tables. Because of this, we decided to sit on the patio. This was also crowded but manageable as far as seating went. Next, let's talk about the service. Service was extremely slow with everyone's answer being that they were just slammed or your food will be out next. Several other tables on the patio had trouble just getting drinks from the bar or getting the waitress to bring them refills or bottle drinks. The only drink that comes in a glass is tea, unless you order something from the bar. All other drinks, including water, were bottled drinks. Next, let's talk about the food. We ordered 2 Oklahoma burgers with fries. The only change we asked to be made to the burgers was to add bacon and cheese- pretty standard. We ordered our burgers at 6:45 and we did not receive them until 7:45. The burgers were very disappointing considering the fact that the cost was almost $15 a plate. The burger had no flavor, no seasoning at all. There was also no salt or pepper on the table to add your own if you wanted. The burger was so juicy/greasy that the bottom bun was soggy and stuck to the wax paper it was siting on. Any fast food burger would have had more to offer than this burger. Now, it is time for the bill. I was expecting the cost to be what it was, however, I was not told at any point, not before we were seated nor before we ordered that there would be an extra charge per meal because it was a soft opening. This is information that should be told to the customer before they commit to order. That charge may have put them out of the budget they wanted to stay in for their meal, possibly causing an embarrassing situation when trying to pay the bill. Any extra charges that are going to be added to a customer's bill for any reason should be told to the customer before they are seated and place an order. This was my first post for this business BUT IS no longer accurate. Please ship to “NOW”Been wanting to try for a while. Finally worked out for us. Wonderful decode, very nice changes to the store. We were seated promptly, drink order taken and waitress came over quickly.. We placed our order and the food was delivered quickly. We had patty melts. Asked if we could have it “very rare” we wee told yes so we ordered. It came and was not rare. No pink leave mind red. The meat was dry, not over done but dry. The sandwich was okay overall. I had the fries because the reviews were positive but the fries weren’t outstanding tonight. The service over all was adequate. We might try again in the future after reviewing other reviews. It is a little pricey for sandwiches. We wish them luck as Quitman can use some alternative restaurants.
