Country Kitchen — Restaurant in Quitman

Horrible customer service. We were sat and not checked on once in 45 minutes. Several people sat after us received their food and were finished before ours arrived and my hashbrowns were cold. The surrounding tables were checked on several times while we sat there and my husbands coffee went empty. I made eye contact with the waitress several times but as soon as I’d try to wave her over she’d look away. Would not recommend. Also the place is filthy. Under our table was the air intact vent that is caked with dust. The air ducts are visibly dirty as well. This place needs a good cleaning and new staff.

Edited to add their response as to why the vent is so filthy. This is not just simply dust that has collect. This is dust that has been left and needs to be scrubbed off to remove it. After I received this message the waitress said it was due to chipped paint even though you can see it clearly in the picture. She also tried to say she checked on us and refilled our drinks when she didn’t. No resolve, just excuses and an “apology”. Using GPS and Google, we stumbled upon this place which you really have to look for when you arrive. The building and decor are quite quaint with the country/rustic feel and the menu items are mainly named from farming/ranching things. It's a "seat yourself" atmosphere and we were given menus and asked about drinks almost immediately. The coffee was really good which had me anticipating a great breakfast. I ordered the Rancher, eggs over medium. Wait for food was rather long and once arrived I only got half my order. Finally when my eggs and hash browns arrived, I couldn't even eat them. The eggs were over hard and the hash browns were somewhat rubbery. I kept hearing the sounds of microwaves being used frequently as well, but hard to see what they were using them for as my back was turned to the kitchen. I toggled between 3 & 4 stars because of the food itself. But the atmosphere won the 4th star. Since this was a random road trip, I am no sure if I will return. Just depends where...

Well!! I love the breakfast but the only thing that I don't like is that the owner of the restaurant she is very very but very rude she slams the plates . twice I went and in my food I had a diamond in my omelet and she said anything but let me check who lost it 🤨🤔and the second time I went my sister plates had hair ,and the last time we went it was very unhappy it was my mothers birthday and we went to to sit down and we sat in place where it is not close to the bathroom and the owner told us we couldn't sit there because it was reserved, I said okay well lady all of this table have reserved on it and she said no I want yall to move I said no well we move I didn't want to make this problem bigger especially on my mom birthday then she ask me are you mad yes I am she got our order and she brought it to us and slamming every single thing no more going there sorry I got so mad and what got very upset that the people that reserved supposedly reserved they came untill we were done...
