El Chaparrito — Restaurant in Río Grande

While in town for a few days we came to this spot on a Thursday night during happy hour. 3 tacos were $9 and 2 for 1 margarita special. The food and drinks were good but one of our servers didn’t speak any English. The way they totaled the bill was on a piece of paper and they only accepted cash or cashapp only. We had a difficult time with them separating the bill by each person they kept saying they couldn’t split it with all six of us. Eventually we got it split and to us we knew the total price was off , it was on the higher end so we didn’t appreciate that they added extra stuff to it. Cute new small restaurant. They have a fusion of tex-mex and Venezuelan food. It is on the expensive side. Everything is made to order. We ordered burritos but they were smaller than expected. We asked for steak but they gave us shedded beef...not sure if that was what they considered...
