Greetings all,
It's been several decades that I've been going to Pikaytos... Well before it had the name. When a place becomes part of your literal life, you care much about how any soul calls it. I am addicted to life and its derived human expression in its most altruistic, community-like form. In Japan, where 'karaoke' derives from, peasants would sing from their tables -never from a stage, with lights on them, willing that people will look at them. Being the life that we have been left off with, where family no longer sing together, us -the isolated- seek vehemently for spaces in which to floor said longing of doing something -anything- together.
Only now I get to be asked where I am and why am I anywhere.
For the purpose of this review, I have to say, first and foremost, that I am ever so grateful to all employees in the kitchen, the all beautiful men BEHIND THE COUNTER, thank you for putting up with me all throughout the years. The elegance, kindness and cleanliness in your service, albeit the rare times I do order, surpasses any in the nearby area.
Too bad all of that wonderful people, dressed to the toe -clean and shaven- gets represented by your biased disc jockey. It is truly detrimental to the atmosphere of this business.
Just last night, after many months of not stepping foot on the place, I walk in and extend my hand to your representative, or the host of your event for the night. In turn, he rapidly swift his right hand towards the back of my extend right hand, as if "that's as much a greet you'll get from me". Or at least that's how I took it, and I have to live with me.
(Granted as I stepped in -the story of my life- speakers just went off, but I swear I didn't move my invisible magic wand at all).
I've had my song pushed down by this permanent host of your establishment, is not even funny, if it wasn't for gas prices. So I rather go where I know I won't sing at all -but can dance.
It's all about human expression, or the life we live. How do you want to live your life? Immersed in the kitchen while some Mr Nopants drags your stars and best customers away -hence two points for atmosphere? Times a changing.
The representative finally shaked my hand, after a good minute of mine not moving it's stance. His face turned a tad red 🍒 he apologized for not seeing me there due to the speakers going out.
On my end it won't happen again. From now I would gladly greet the management!
If I was her, I'd be the beautiful one sitting as a DJ, telling who what's what.
