Hereghty Heavenly Delicious — Restaurant in Raleigh

We stopped in about 10 minutes before they were closing and requested a piece of sour cherry chocolate cake To Go. The worker turned around and boxed it up behind the counter in a box, and I paid the 6 dollars for the slice.

Upon arrival at home, we realized she had given us regular cheesecake with some cherry preserves on top. Much different than what we had asked for. Discouraged, we ate it anyways. It honestly tasted like it was a week old. The parts that had been exposed to air were rubbery and the taste was very unimpressive notwithstanding the horrible texture.

Not only was this wrong item full price, but it was terrible and should have thrown out. If you don't want to lose money throwing it away, I would recommend a "day old bread" discount. This would also maximize evening desserts from people at the nice restaurants nearby. However that abortion of a cheesecake should have been terminated...

This is my fourth time to this cafe in the past year(ish). Customer service was pleasant and quick. Only one employee was working (out front) and we were third customers in line with several others already in the cafe. She took our orders, prepped coffee and pastries, brought items out to customers, and tidied up and restocked, all while being polite. Today I brought my husband. He’s super picky about cheesecake and he immediately said, this is good. I actually had to make him repeat himself because I was surprised he enjoyed it enough to comment. I love the pastries and coffee here. Today I had a cream puff and cappuccino. The coffee is consistently delicious. And each of the parties I’ve tried have been delightful. ETA: their current sanitation rating is 97.5 so don’t be deterred by outdated reviews. It appears they took the bad rating to heart and have (literally) cleaned...

As a regular for several months now, I've decided to stop going out of my way to visit Hereghty. If you want a side of attitude and subpar service, be my guest. Otherwise, until they clean up their sanitation rating and hire pleasant staff, I won't bother.

The chubby brown-haired girl with a bob cut is consistently rude – one customer (there with her husband and child) had to ask her to turn down the heavy-metal music in the middle of the day and switch to something more befitting of a cafe environment.

It could be so much more, but currently, it misses the mark. There are way too many other upscale cafes/coffee shops here in North Raleigh to choose from so I'll go elsewhere.

The only saving grace was the coffee – which is generally consistent except when a new girl made it searing hot recently. It literally could have caused 3rd-degree burns....
