Thought I would change up my eatery routine and try some local Chinese. Google searched closest restaurants and Bamboo Garden popped up. Called my order in with ease. Was told it would be 20 minutes, ok no worries. I gave them 25 minutes. My experience went downhill upon arrival. The day was a hot one. I only say that because when I showed up, 25 minutes after ordering, the front door was propped open and the place was just as hot inside as out, no AC. There was no one at the counter... so I stood there for a few minutes. A gentlemen finally came out and asked for my phone number.... then he said, just a few more minutes. A few more minutes, then a few more minutes more...I finally gave up and sat down. I'm pretty positive I sat in this hot store for another 20 minutes minimum. Again, just hoping the food was worth the wait. Certainly not off to a good start Bamboo Garden. Got home, opened the containers and began to chow down. We ordered sweet and sour pork, Kung Pau chicken, won ton and egg drop soup. My total experience continued going south. There was no "Ka Pow" in the chicken. It was cooked well but lacked the flavor/spices you'd expect. The sweet and sour pork was a atrocious. The pork was tough, like chewing leather. The weird thing is the deep fry was light and crisp, but the pork was hard as a rock. We didn't try to finish it. The egg drop soup missed the mark as well, no flavor. I've never eaten her before and maybe I caught them on an off day. But I spent $60 for a dinner I thought was going to be tasty. Everything but the chicken was tossed out. I will try and give other local eateries a shot to see what else is out there. I won't be...

This is usually the case when they are busy or when you order two of the same items. They probably cook both orders at the same time and then split it up. Nothing wrong with that as long as you are consistent with the taste and your serving size. It is different every time we order and we order almost every week. It is starting to become a hit and miss on the food. One thing that's been consistent is the service. Also, make sure to double check your take out orders before you leave. Because they are so busy, they forgot one of our orders but they cooked it right away.
PREVIOUS REVIEW: This place is our go to place for takeout Chinese food even if it is about a 10 miles drive for me. We have almost gone through their entire menu and so far, everything has been great tasting and made to order. For the price, taste, quality, and serving size. It is well worth it. Highly...
ย ย ย Read moreStopped by here after a day in DTLA. Looked up online for a Chinese food restaurant. This place had good online reviews, so y friend and I went there. Small restaurant in a neighborhood shopping center. So here is my mixed review on this place. First we ordered foil wrapped chicken. The chicken was very fatty. Next we ordered the Chicken and vegetables. It was very tasty. I ordered a spicy honey chicken that also had broccoli. It was not spicy at all. Some of the chicken was very dry or possibly old while other pieces were moist. The fried rice also had no flavor. On the positive side, there was enough food for 4 people. This was a Tuesday night and no other customers. So I don't know if it was just an off...
