I would absolutely avoid this place, here's why. Okay, so yes, if you want to see a robot cat deliver some food like they do in foreign countries, then go ahead and overspend on some mediocre sushi.

I was pleasantly surprised to see O Toro on the menu. That is usually a great indication of a sushi place. Their price was also very in line with market price for the most part (maybe over by a dollar or dollar 50 but with Toro, you don'tet that really bother you, tonight it was $22.50/11.25 per pc) however, the chef tonight did not know how to cut it properly. I was served 2 pcs of O Toro that the end part couldn't be chewed. Yes ,I had to take it out of my mouth in front of the people at my table. Disgraceful. Both pcs I was served had this issue. Not to mention, they put gold flakes on it. What is that for? It serves no purpose other than to try to get people to think it's special. Great sushi doesn't need gold flakes. This is a trend that should be deleted from history. People are seriously so stupid.

RAMEN: Also, bear in mind that their ramen is not traditional Japanese ramen. It had a lot of surprise ingredients such as mushrooms and shredded seaweed (normally seaweed is a sheet you can take out of you want) which wad really an unwelcome surprise. Not to mention what is labeled tonkotsu on their menu did not taste like tonkotsu at all. I would even guess they gave me a completely different broth altogether by mistake.

RICE: Rice is wildly important with sushi. If you don't agree, go ahead and come feat here. The rice was not as moist as it should be. It was on the dry side. NOT disgustingly dry (I've had it unfortunately) but if perfect rice is a 10 out of 10 (simply for guage), this was about a 6. So, it's not half but very close. I understand that may be hard to comprehend, and I'm sorry, but just know their rice didn't taste like moist, sticky, chewy, sushi rice. It was a dryer rice like from other parts of Asia. Actually, that's a great way to sum up this place. It's like some other Asian country is attempting to be japanese and failing really badly.

Another example: Salmon Sushi: the market price for 2pcs of salmon sushi at any quality sushi place in Southern California is about 4.50usd. Expensive places charge $6. Again, some of the best, most fresh sushi places charge 4-4.50, so understand this isn't a quality thing. It's truly a fair market price thing. This place was $8 !!!! I actually passed on ordering what I always get because their pricing is so inflated. It's absolutely ridiculous.

Anyone who's rated this place more than 3 stars is basing it on nothing more than emotions. Whether it's the robot cat, the ambience, etc, they don't know sushi, and I wouldn't trust them as a reviewer whatsoever.

Do yourself a favor, save yourself some money, and save your sushi outing for a place where you can get superior quality food for far,...

You might read this and still come to eat here because the food is decent but I would highly discourage you from coming at all.

The food was decent. The waitresses were nice and helpful. The problem was the owner- Michael. We had a misunderstanding about the tea and the cost of the tea. He came and said sarcastically that in all his years of experience no one has had problems with the tea. We said it's fine we will just drink it and pay for it. He proceeded to bring gloves and a tray and tried to take our teas out of our hands. He said sarcastically that we should just eat for free and to have a happy new year. We said we would pay for it.

He repeated this all about five times. We asked him to please just let us eat and pay and leave. We were passing by in the city and just wanted to eat at a sit down restaurant.

He proceeded to call the police. He literally came by our table to talk to the police. At this point we just wanted to leave so I went up to him to get the receipt so we could pay and go. He said the police were coming so we have to stay.

The police came. Thank God the police talked to him on the side because he kept repeating himself to the police while they tried to calm him down. The police came to our table, apologized for interrupting our meal, and told us that it was just because Michael is riled up. They confirmed that it wasn't our fault after I told them what happened. They even told us that michael had repeated himself multiple times to them and confirmed that it was just a small misunderstanding that he overreacted about.

We payed for our meal and left a tip because we felt bad for the waitresses who came over to apologize to us regarding their boss' poor behavior. I asked them if this happens often but they just smiled and looked away. He is a...

I ordered many things for dinner: tonkatsue ramen, tempera udon, Joyce's sushi combo, soft shell crab, and croquettes. The ramen and udon were huge. The ramen actually comes with an entire fried pork chop, usually tonkatsue refers to the soup broth but this was a great surprise. The tempura udon comes with 3 fried shrimp, another great addition. Each of the noodles were very large portions and the flavors were good. The best dish was the sushi combo. Everything was fresh and tasted great. The sushi was fresh and the rolls were large. If you take a look at the posted pictures you can see the California rolls were large with lots of filling, good rich flavor filling, not thin dry filling like some other restaurants I've had in the past. I chose the shrimp tempura roll for the combo and it was thick and crunchy, just tasted great. However, not everything was great. I ordered the jumbo soft shell crab. First, the size was not jumbo, but the price was at $18. Not worth the price. It was very very over cooked, perhaps that's why it was smaller because it shrank from overcooking. I have to say it was crispy, but that's all it was, just all crisp and no crab flavor. A good softshell crab should be lightly battered, fried just enough where the insides are cooked but juicy and the outside is still crispy. Also the sauce included should be slightly sour with a hint of soy sauce, I know this may seem picky, but come on this one side dish was $18, I get to be a little picky. The customer service was nice and attentive, very good. The overall experience was nice and the food was good, just don't order the soft shell crab, put the $18 on a roll, it will be a much...

I was there for Valentine's day dinner. The food was fine and the portion size for the combo dinner is good. The jumbo Ami Abi special for $35 was not worth it. Way too much wasabi. Where I knock the points was the service. We were trying to enjoy our dinner. We felt very rushed the whole time. The place was busy, but the server kept rushing our order and would run away if we didn't give her a quick response. There were two ladies who was working that evening and both of them did that. I even heard one of them say, 'we need to take all the order now, because we are busy, and we have many to-go orders'. Why is this customer's problem? Also, why do you have a robot when it kept getting stuck on your small hallway. I had to point it out to the server that the robot is stuck multiple times. It would've been easier to just hand it to them. Also, there was a free large sake if we were to put a review. The server said that's not applicable and that they can give an ice cream (bad tasting green tea). Then, please don't put this on the menu and even in your bathroom if you don't want to provide this. Also, don't make us tip on top of the Tax amount. The tip should be based on the food items, not on the total amount with taxes. This is a not a good practice.
