Scooter's Coffee — Restaurant in Rapid City

EDIT 11/7/2021 Management reached out to us immediately, and offered our next order on the house. We were reassured the employee in question was spoken to about his actions. When we arrived, he was working a different position in the shop. Our experience was excellent this time. Thanks again to Scooters for remedying this situation. We will be back!

Original review 9/11/2021: We ordered a frozen mocha with extra mocha. Guy with the Naruto tattoo told us a higher price than the girl did when we ordered. When we questioned it, he was extremely rude, telling us the girl had no idea what she was doing, then told us they could leave out the extra mocha or just give us coffee and ice cream, among other things. Very condescending. When we said it was supposed to be dairy free he mocked my lactose intolerance and implied that dairy may be added to my drink. We've never been tempted to drive off without our food/drink until today. My drink wasn't messed with, but I realized after we pulled away that we were given a medium instead of a large. Was so excited to stop and use my free drink today. Staff greeted us warmly and was very friendly as they took our order. Sadly when we got to the window, things changed a bit. Had to send one drink back in to be finished correctly. Then, after making sure my free drink was toggled on, they scanned my app. When asking for the remaining balance I was told the original price and when I asked about the free drink I received a shrug and an “oh well” look. My other drink was ordered with a shot of espresso in it and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t in there. Sure we paid for it though. I had just left the doctor's office and was overwhelmed with information. I was craving an iced latte and knew I needed to get sugar free and almond milk for more protein. I am also 31 weeks pregnant and needed decaf. I told the barista that I was needing to make all these life changes, and she could tell I was overwhelmed. When I got to the window to pay, all 4 of the barista's were so sympathetic and gave me my drink for free. I explained how hard my day had been and thanked them and started to cry. I am amazed at how thoughtful and giving they were and will be returning to this location, even though I used to be loyal to another coffee chain. They made a big impact...
