Carlitos Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Raytown

I've been going to Carlitos for probably 20yrs. Locally owned small business!

I currently work with a couple of their past employees and they've never told me a bad story about people doing things to the food to the people that come in rude, or people they don't like.

They've told me about how they would clean thoroughly every night when it was time to close, and how every morning they would make the salsa, cook the meat, etc. They inherently took pride in their work and the same could be said about everyone that has worked there and/or still does.

Always polite, always helpful and patient with me when I don't quite know what it is I want to get that day. They're even happy to bring the food to the table!

The food is good, too. They'll never score points for fancy plates and silverware, but that's not even necessary. The food itself is really good!

I'd suggest the chicken taco salad and an order of cinnamon crisps. Be prepared to wear cinnamon and sugar!

Well I go in I'm expecting to see our fellow Latinos in their working but there wasn't any Latino workers involved white Americans and black Americans all under the age of 23, they did manage to get the food out but I was highly disappointed because everything was microwaved and then served, was nothing authentic about this place, this is a prime example of you get what you pay for, the food did not have a authentic Mexican taste flavor or feel.. First time trying it. Before anyone is wondering, don't look at this as a Mexican restaurant. I'd say more of random (munchies) food, with decent tacos.

2 different orders. Got a platter - burrito, tamale & taco. Never got the taco.

Food is bland. Salsa is decent. (extra hot)

Second order- 3 side tacos (soft) was really good! Decent size. Chips and Cheese. Cheese is definitely out of a can.
