We ended up at Dagwoods unintentionally to be honest. I didn’t know that the Breakfast and Lunch Lovers place had permanently closed. I wasn’t sure what to expect from a completely new owner & menu. I was genuinely pleased. We came in at lunchtime and it was lively but not over crowded.
After trying to decide between the meatloaf lunch special and a BLT, I ordered the meatloaf at the enthusiastic recommendation of our server. As it turned out, the meatloaf is a lunch special that’s only offered on Fridays. I’d be willing to go back on a Friday just for the meatloaf special. Mmmmm! It was a hearty serving of well seasoned , moist meatloaf with real mashed potatoes, green beans and Texas toast. The meatloaf & potatoes were generously covered in brown gravy. I was only able to eat about half of my meal & the other half provided a tasty second meal at home .
Sometimes restaurant food just isn’t as good when reheated. This was every bit as good the second time and the meatloaf was still moist which was a pleasant surprise.
The staff members were friendly and helpful. They assisted each other cheerfully and even though they were apparently not related, there was a pleasant, positive family-type vibe from every worker we interacted with.
I will miss the peach cobbler pancakes from the previous chef/owner, but I definitely want to return to try the breakfast menu (& maybe get the chance for that BLT)! I’ll have to go on a different day of the week (not Friday) because I’m not sure any other menu item would be more tempting than their meatloaf.
I highly recommend Dagwoods. It’s a clean cafe atmosphere with a creative sandwich menu, breakfast served all day, and a positive upbeat vibe all around. My friend and I enjoyed the food and cheerful service and I do...
Read more7/26/25 I am almost sure I made a review before. But maybe not? This is my third time here..
This time, I had lunch. Philly steak sandwich, fries and drink. The sandwich was smaller then I expected, but it's ok. Plenty of fries, Sandwich was weird at first. But decent. Then a realized it's roast beef. Found it weird but interesting.
Tried my wife's tenderloin but she prefers everything plain so obviously I didn't prefer it. But this isn't about her food.
Service was fine. Prices meh. $38 for both of us not sure if it's great but apparently inflation happened few years ago and I just won't let go 🤣

As the first time at this place I don't remember having issues.
The second time in sure I have a long review because that's what I do. I remember having issues with my food, service (they was busy however) and such. But it's ok. I had no issues here for third time. I'll just have to try something until I like it and stick with...
Read moreI went there two days in a row recently, on a Friday and Saturday around breakfast time. Overall, the food portions were good and it was tasty. Not too expensive and all of the staff were nice. Some feedback I would give them is my drinks were never refilled, however, on one of the visits, I did ask the waitress for a to go drink since I didn’t get a refill and she quickly gave me one. When you first enter the restaurant, I would suggest putting a sign letting customers know if they should seat themselves or wait to be seated. When you first walk in, it’s a little confusing on what you should do. On one of the visits, it wasn’t busy so we sat ourselves and assumed that that was OK. The other visit it was very busy so we waited to be sat. The elevated seating on the right when you walk in can be a little bouncy/shaky. Not sure if there’s anything to be done about that. I would also highly suggest they put purse hangers in the...
