I have been going to Serenity Cafe almost since it opened, and it was wonderful. i told all my friends about it and took several of them there for lunch. I loved their chicken salad on a croissant. Unfortunately the last couple of visits the chicken salad has been really runny and not fit for use on any bread. It was terribly disappointing. When we asked about it, we were told that nothing had changed on the chicken salad. In our opinion - my friends and mine - something has and we havenāt been back in since Valentineās week. The cafeās location difficult to get in for people who are handicapped. There is only one or two handicap spaces right in front (I believe it is one space, but I could be wrong). But if it is a handicap van it is dangerous to use that space. The main parking lot requires you to use a tall staircase with good handrails, but that, also, could not be used by people with mobility problems. The second time I ate there, we sat on the patio. Donāt ever try to eat outside if the wind is blowing because you are completely exposed. Last, about location, the cafe is next door to a high school. And it is a hangout, so be sure you donāt take a late lunch because the school letās out at about 2:30, and on Wednesdayās the kids are out at noon. I am sure they do a lot of business with high schoolerās, but I wonder if they have considered the older...

I have driven past this place multiple times & it was always busy in the morning. After todayās food, I see why! I dined on a Gouda panini with tomatoes & spinach. Bbq chips help compliment the meal. Keep in mind chips are a la carte.
The strawberry lemonade is a must try. Donāt be overwhelmed by the multiple drink choices, including drAnks. However it made my head spin there were so many.
The sweet potato bar is deliciously sweet with the homemade crust being š„!! I also purchased the red velvet cheesecake but havenāt been greedy enough to eat that just yet ;)
The salmon sliders look excellent to try - those are only on Sat. Enjoyed the jazz play on the colorful speakers behind my seat. We appreciated that we were not rushed out of the restaurant even after eating. It made for an enjoyable afternoon catching up.
Thereās a nook in the far back or in the front for cozy seating. Otherwise there are an array of barstool tables for your dining delight.
I will def be back & want to try the morning options as well. If you live in Raytown or KC close to Blue Ridge, donāt pass up this opportunity to check out Serenity...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad a late lunch at the Serenity Cafe in Raytown and it was absolutely delicious. The blackened chicken wrap had just the right amount of spice and all of the flavor. The chicken salad sandwich was unexpected but completely perfect. We got two cheesecakes to enjoy later (the red velvet and tiramisu), which were easily some of the best cheesecakes we've ever had. You can tell that the food here is homemade and made with love, and I wouldn't have believed it except for we got to meet the owner of the shop. I wish I would have had more time to chat about her little charming cafe because she was passionate about her business and the quality products that she serves to her customers. She also addressed my husband by named based on briefly glancing at his credit card. That level of detail is just unheard of anymore. So all this to say that if you live in the KC area or are just passing through Raytown, make sure to make an effort to drop in and have one of the best...
