I went for the first time with my uncle and mom on Saturday, May 20. The parking and the restaurant is huge. Lost of eating spaces. It’s so relaxing that the restaurant is on the pond. There were lots of turtles and ducks. We ate outdoors and the seating is nice. It was perfect having went around noon. But I worry about the Texas heat and the mosquitoes off the water. The ceiling fans being on full blast were awesome. But I think a screen may be needed later on. We had no issue when we were there which was great.
Now the food…fried, the food is awesome. My mom and uncle got the fish and gator and of course that comes with hush puppies and fries. I got the Jonah crab and gumbo. The crab was fine. The potatoes are huge. You only get one and that was enough for me. If it were to be cut up, you will probably have 3 or 4 potatoes compared to other restaurants. I was disappointed with the gumbo. It was very bland that I had to put hot sauce on it to give it some flavor. I never use hot sauce in my gumbo. The seasonings on the table to me are pretty salty, even the spicy one. I would only put the seasonings on the fried foods, like my fries. I love salt on them. I went back to buy a crab cake and boudin balls to go. When Ingot home l, I was disappointed. The boudin balls tasted like they were frozen instead of freshly made. I’m not sure of the meat used but I wish there was more rice in it. It was 6 in the order and I only ate 2. The crab cake wasn’t bad. It just did not have a taste. It did not taste like a crab cake. A couple of bites from it and I was done too.
But I do not want to dismiss this place. The staff was great and friendly. The restaurant is clean and spacious. There are restrooms on the inside and outside for the patio. They also provide a sink to wash your hands. It was much needed after eating my crab. I hope that the owner is open to the customers thoughts of the food and could somehow make some tweaks. The fried foods are great. I will be back to try the lobster tails and have my own fish. I will also bring back my daughter to feed the turtles and fish. Despite my experience, I still enjoyed myself. May the Lord God continue to bless...

Read moreOn a budget, so I got the Thursday Plate Special : Fried Fish, Fries, 4 Hush Puppies and a tarter sauce. $8.65
I always ask for fries without salt so I know I get them fresh made.
This place offers a seasoning on the fries but I found out to late. Still these fries where some of the best I had on their own. They have a good hearty thickness and a crispy coated crunch.
Freshly made they are worth the stop. I don’t know how salty the seasoning is so you’ll have to make that call if you stop. But on their own made me save the spot on my maps.
The Fish are all well breaded and thick enough to not get dried out during cooking. I’m not sure if they are made to eat soft or crispy? All I’ll say is they didn’t outshine the fries and didn’t upset my experience.
Hush Puppies : Man I haven’t had a hush puppy sense I was waiting for the first round of crab legs to come out at the Chesapeake Bay Sea Food House. If you know what I’m talking about; you know that’s a while back..
These had a good crunchy surface with a soft and flavorful soft and dense center. Made me think of a place I ate 20yrs ago.
Tarter sauce : creamy chunks of dill pickle with a consistent tanginess to complement the meal.
They Do Not have any hot sauce but the have these powders ones hotter and the other is not so hot. They have good flavor with a hint of cloves in there. How much to use depends on how much salt you enjoy.
I wouldn’t have liked them all over the fries. Only because of salt not flavor.
I was pleased with the stop at Exit 410B check out all the other peoples pics to see the nice view of the lake that borders the patio.
Good place to drown some worms if your traveling with your tackle box and rod.
Enjoy your travels...
