Baskin-Robbins — Restaurant in Redwood City

I'm a long time buyer of ice cream here since it is so local and convenient. Quality never fails but today has been an upsetting evening, to say the least.

I bought an ice cream cake for a family member on 4/14/18 and the girl who wrote out the 'Happy Birthday' information on the cake totally scratched up the frosting. She was kind enough to 'refund' me the money that I paid on a gift card. It was supposed to be $45, as is the cost of any ice cream cake.

Today, 6/2/18, I went in thinking I would treat my friends out for some ice cream as it is a nice summer day. Then I get told the card only held $25 and upon asking for an explanation why I didn't have $45 they had no response. None. At all. The girl who wrote out my cake and refunded me the money was there and didn't have a single word for me either. They just wanted us to leave without even offering an apology. Totally RUDE. This is honestly the first review I've ever written: I've been to every BR from SSF to Mountain View, and this one is my favorite. (Owner and employees are great) However, I went today to take advantage of it being the 31st. 😁 Alas there was a note stating they wouldn't be back until 1:40. Bummer, but that's the way it goes. Took a photo of the note to send my neighbor (I was grabbing him something also) and was sending him the photo when the young lady inside rapped on the door. I asked if they were open and was informed in quite the "bratty" tone she was on her break. She marched off and shot me a "bratty" look and disappeared in back. I used to support this establishment but no longer go to the store after learning about how the employees are treated here. The managers threaten their employees with the tip jar whenever they get upset or find any minor issue with their employees. If you drop your ice cream don't bother asking for a new one, the managers forbid it. The behavior of these managers is cruel and they should not intimidate their employees by threatening to take away their tips. Find a different Baskin Robbins where the employees are...
