Claudine's Restaurant — Restaurant in Rich Square

Everything you'd expect from a small town diner restaurant. Great food, good process, friendly staff AND fellow customers. The coffee was good, the food was hot and fresh. The sausage tasted homemade,. The pancake was perfect. It wasn't soggy. It had that little bit of crunch to the edge from where it had been cooked with butter. The portion size were spot on, too. The staff was very attentive. From the time we sat down until the time we received our food was under 10 minutes. The only thing I wish they'd do different is have fountain drinks instead of bottled. For 2 coffee, a bottled soda, 3 breakfasts with add-ons it was under $40 with tip. It's quite evident went this quaint restaurant is where the locals go!

I ordered bread pudding and it was cold when it arrived and I just did not like the taste of it. I asked for it to be taken off my bill and I was told that once you order you got to pay for it. I asked to speak with the owner and she was rude and told me not to return if I want happy, Trust I want. Most restaurants try to accommodate their customers but at Claudines in Rich Sqaure, N.C. once you order (it rather it's good or not,) you have to pay for it. Rude and nasty, (the service that is). This store has by far some of the worst customer service I have ever encountered. The staff became so upset when I asked her a question that her face got red. I am standing there clam, trying to get an and while she is physically upset over a basic question. Sadly, when a teenager stopped me as said ma'am you weren't wrong in what you said, she is mad because you notice. Kindness goes a long way. It wouldn't have hurt to simply provide an answer. It's more work to be upset than to be kind.
