My parents picked this food up on their way home from work (we don’t live in the area). Instead of refunding us the money for the food purchased, the restaurant manager wanted us to deliver the food back to the restaurant. When my mom stated it was too far or if she could just send a picture of the food by text, the manager said she could bring it tomorrow. Who would keep fish, eggs, etc. for a day, carry it around in their car until after work, just to hand over food that was not ordered in the first place?! Ridiculous and super unprofessional. Moreover, with COVID-19 this is a health violation and super concerning. I wouldn’t trust the food they are serving at this restaurant. Maybe they’ll sell you some of their day old fish too.

Love this place! Yeah yeah I know, it may not be appealing from the outside. But, this place is a diamond in the rough! If you like tamales, the ones they serve are some of the best tamales ever!!! So moist, and good. Now for the best part, papusas. What is a papusas you ask? The best way I can explain it is, it is like a gordita stuffed with cheese and the meat of your choice. Plus it comes with a pickled cabbage. Not all pickled cabbage I have found out is the same. The way they make it is great! So if you have passed by this place like I have for years, and never stopped by. Now is the time, it is definitely a staple!

If I'm ever craving pupusa, this is my go-to spot. I've been coming here for over a decade, that is how good they are. Shout out to the guy working the window on July 4th who took my order even though they were already closed for the day. I didn't realize they were closed and was totally okay with leaving so that the employees could enjoy their 4th but he insisted on taking the order anyway. Life has been life'ing lately and small kind gestures like that make a huge difference. Appreciate yall! Check out the cheese pull on these pupusas though 🔥🔥

Keep in mind that this review is from someone not of this culture. It's my personal opinion and you may not feel the same, so give them a try! The first thing you'll see is the place definitely hasn't had any upgrades (not even paint) since they opened a long time ago. However they are not dirty or moldy which is great! Don't have to be new to be good. Also, English speaking is not very good but I still had no trouble ordering and the girl was very nice and patient. Here's what I got:

  1. Beef tacos- the beef was absolutely delicious! It had a chard beef flavor w/o being burnt or dry. Great flavor! Wishing I'd gotten more.
  2. Papusa- Bean/cheese and pork/cheese. Amazing! Very flavorful and just the right amount of cheese to have a cheese pull w/o taking over the flavor profile. 100% recommend!!
  3. Chicken Tamales- Nope. I love tamales. They are one of my dav foods and these made me wanna gag. They had no flavor. Were half filled with a large chunk of potato, which means it had hardly any chicken; almost none. However my biggest issue is the wetness!!! They were so wet that water was literally leaking from the thick aluminum foil they were wrapped in. You can tell they were taken straight from frozen to being "heated up". The masa had the consistency over every undercooked eggs. I tried unwrapping them and baking in the oven on 400 for over 15 mins and they didn't...

Amenities need work but the food is authentic and outstanding! My parent were from El Salvador and they used to take my brother and me to Salvadoran restaurants. It helped us learn to know what was authentic and what wasn't. There's a chain restaurant which name starts with "G" and they have pupusas but they were small and slightly dry so not worth the price they were charging. That was 12 years ago and I've never been back. The food at "Casita" is so good, it reminds me of happy childhood meals. Besides the waiter, even the lady making the food paused to check in on us to ensure we were happy. When I spoke to her in Spanish she could tell I was born here but when I told her my parents were from the "old country" and how much I appreciated how everything looked and tasted, get a big please smile on her face. That told me that putting out quality food is very important to them and they nailed it!

This was 100% Salvadoran restaurant and not blended with other kinds of cuisine from Latin America. They could stand to modernize their tables and chairs and could even set up a nice dining area outside the front of their restaurant someday but if you overlook that, you will have an authentic culinary experience at a very reasonable price. Enjoy! I know I'll keep...

I was here for about 20 minutes without anyone apr Approach the table I understand they were busy Sunday morning at noon more like lunch but keep in mind there’s only one guy taking care of the dining take away drive-through picking up orders so that’s a lot for one guy . I had to walk out They were several people waiting for their food And I couldn’t imagine how long it will take him to put in my order and get at least a drinks. I can’t say anything about the food I wasn’t able to taste it, but the service is really bad they need a lot of a lot of work on their service one guy for everything and I bet there is only one cook for 30 + people so that means no time for cleaning no time for Simple hygiene One day someone’s going to get sick with a little bit of service they just running around , that’s all I can say service needs a...
