My family and I decided to go to breakfast to celebrate the birth of another child tomorrow morning because I'm having a c section. We had previously gone to the original pancake house in Kennewick and the experience was awesome. We had left happy with the food and service, but we decided to go to the one in Richland today because we were going to church at 9:15 and it's closer to church. First, the host was not welcoming at all. He was not personable at all. He even ignored one of my kids when he tried telling him something. The food was terrible. The potatoes were not seasoned at all and they were very undercooked. The pancakes were not good flavor wise and they were quite a bit smaller. The bacon was cold and hard like old beef jerky, which was weird because we went early in the morning. The scrambled eggs were runny. My husband ordered the country Benedict. The part of the eggs that were suppose to be white were runny all over the gravy. The biscuits were hard and the meat on there was just gross and the texture was off. There was no time to re do the meals. They re did the potatoes, which what they brought to the table was no different than the ones they brought first. They were undercooked and without seasoning. I don't understand how it could have been so bad. It really ruined our breakfast celebration. We ended up having to leave for church hungry. We'll...
Read moreBetter than IHOP, the quality of the food is good. I ordered the chicken fried steak over biscuits and it came with a short stack of pancakes. I gotta say the pancakes were amazing. I was most impressed with those. The CFS was alright, gravy was good with chunks of sausage and bacon in it. The service was awesome but I have to admit they are a personal acquaintance of mine but I watched the other servers and they all did a great job. The place was packed but they kept the orders coming out in a timely manner. They even brought us out some orange juice compliments of our server and it was delicious. No pulp but tasted like fresh squeezed. Atmosphere was comfortable. We had a booth and they were comfy. It was busy and loud but like I said it was packed and it's a breakfast house so it's about what you'd expect. They didn't have large party seating so they moved a bunch of small tables together for one of the big groups. Everyone seemed to be laughing and having a great time. If you want to go somewhere nice for breakfast this is definitely a good place for it. I have a few other go to places I enjoy frequenting for breakfast but the Original Pancake House is now on the list too. There was a bit of a wait when we got there so if you have to keep a schedule then it might be best to make a reservation. Wait time was...
Read moreI've only eaten here once and I ordered delivery. It came here about as fast as one should expect, and the food was hot.
I got the biscuits and gravy which comes with pancakes and eggs. The biscuits had great taste and texture (and they were quite big as well), but the gravy did not taste very good. It tasted sour almost, not like sour milk, but like sour candy. It tasted like citric acid was put in it. The eggs were good. I got mine scrambled. They nailed the texture and the taste was similar to every other place that serves them. The pancakes I am sad to say weren't that great. The texture is perfect. Taking that first bite made me think this would be where I get my breakfast from here on. However, I'm not sure how to put this, but the pancakes tasted floury or bitter. I gave everything a good try, and that amazing texture made me want to keep eating, but the taste just isn't for me. Like I said, though. I've only gotten food from here once, so I am more than happy to try something else on the menu in the future.
Gave it another shot today. I tried one of their omelets. Texture was fine but the taste had that weird sourness to it again. My family enjoyed it, though. I tried the chocolate chip pancakes and those are absolutely phenomenal. Would recommend those to anyone...
