So. Im big on reviews and think this is worth mentioning… B2 was recommended by a friend of my boyfriends and so we decided to give it a try. His platter was great, and though he was given an incorrect side, he says it was still good. However, I ordered the southwest salad, and it was SO dry! I mean, I really don’t see how anybody could enjoy it, as dry as everything is. I was amazed it doesn’t come with a dressing. I wish I could say it was good but I didn’t get to eat it… our server was no where to be found (they were not busy at all). In all the time my boyfriend took to finish his meal, our server did not check on us once. Another server refilled our water. Then, I had to flag down a woman who was clearly running the front of the house for ranch. I was also surprised to see her squeeze hidden valley into a couple cups… I would think they would have a house made ranch… that’s fine though. I also think it is interesting she wasn’t more concerned when I told her we hadn’t seen our server. The worst part was, she ended up cashing us out, and then the server finally showed up asking if we’d like to order something else. We declined. We also declined to tip. Now, I am a firm believer in tipping, and tipping well… this is the first time we have never tipped someone, because I truly did not think he serviced us enough to earn it. He was seemingly nice, but clearly uncomfortable serving and is not great in communication either. Overall, the food was good enough for us to want to give it another try, though we may stick...
Read moreMy fiance and I had a great experience here. The owner was on site and very personable. He and one other person smoke all the meat. The bar had a truly massive selection. The bartender was neat and well put together. She was also very attentive and courteous through our entire visit while keeping very busy. The food was delicious everything we tried would be worth getting again. The ribs (Are smoked!!! Not from the grill. They are NOT dry for what they are as found in other reviews here.) were awesome and the bartender's suggested sauces were great picks. The chicken thighs were juicy and flavorful. The brisket is top tier, absolutely delicious. Onion rings, cornbread, potato salad, and mac and cheese were all great choices, but it seems there wouldn't be bad ones. The other patrons at the bar were friendly and the music on the jukebox was great through the whole visit. I was in town for work and was about to go somewhere else due to the mixed reviews, but this was an experience where everything that could be expected was present and high quality: food, atmosphere, and customer service. Definitely worth a try, drinks are reasonably priced. If you're not drinking alcohol you can have a great, filling meal with a soft drink for under $20 per...
Read moreThis is another BBQ review based on my quest for a suitable replacement for the now-closed Pacer’s restaurant. This place has only been open as a restaurant (previously just a bar) for about a year. I went there for ribs and brisket, but they don’t currently offer both as a two-meat platter. I ordered a half slab of ribs and was lucky enough to talk to one of the co-owners, a very cordial man. He gave me a free sample of brisket and it was so good I added a half-pound of brisket to my carry-out order.
To me, perfect ribs are just the right balance of tender and chewy. B2 leans just a little more into chewy, but still fairly tender. The dry rub is just a little spicier than expected but not objectionably hot. All BBQ sauces are on the side, which is perfect for re-heating carry-out at home. And their sides! I had the very best carry-out potato salad that I can remember. Onion rings were also very good although they could have spent just another minute or two in the fryer. My server was an extremely hard-working young woman who did three jobs simultaneously as bartender, server, and food prep on the side. I’d give the old Pacer’s an honest five stars, but based on my first visit, B2 is a solid 4-½ stars. I will...
