We have had good food from here many times and order it more than other places in the area, last night in fact. Most everything we ordered was good and generously portioned but the Biggest disappointment was that the dumplings are just not good anymore with the new management. The filling flavor would be good but since they arenât folded or sealed at all before cooking they end up soggy and watery after cooking. The ones we had last night looked like balled up half moons. This is a problem because dumplings are one of the main motivators for us when ordering Chinese. I canât imagine they are too busy to properly fold the dumplings and since even I taught myself how via the internet so can they.
The new menu prices have increased a bit too for beef and seafood but the family platters remain a great deal. The Hunan Style dishes have good flavor and some spice which isnât always the case at other Chinese takeout places. The pork lo mein and General Tso dishes are good too. They used to do a free crab rangoon offer but that has changed to Free spring rolls which are not as good so I would prob say no thanks to them next time because the shrimp are...
Read moreFirst place Iâve found in Virginia that has homemade duck sauce to go with my egg rolls. That in itself is enough for me to five star this place, but really it was the insane quality of work I saw being pushed out in that kitchen. I arrived to pick up my food right at the appointed pick up time and it was clear from the moment I walked in that they were slammed (prime dinner time on a holiday). He said five more minutes and so I just sat with the other customers and waited. They were HUSTLING to get all of this food out. It was exactly five minutes that I waited⊠truly no harm done. The man at the counter apologized three times for the wait. When I got home, I discovered there were spring rolls that we never even ordered thrown in with our egg rolls to make up for waiting. Totally was not necessary, but greatly appreciated! Our order was hot, fresh, and perfect. This is the final stop on my search for good...
Read moreI heard a good review about Eat Rice today, so I had to check it out. It was horrible! The fried rice didn't have any flavor. The general tso chicken and the crispy honey chicken were both overcooked, the meat was touch, and consisted of more thick breading than chicken.
The meat was so tough that I couldn't chew it all the way and had to spit it out. Just when you're thinking that you're getting a nice piece of chicken, it was the breading cooked hard and coated in sauce.
There are only two tables to sit at and they each only have 2 chairs. There are at least 4 chairs up against the wall and there is no public restroom for customers. So washing your hands before you eat .....will not happen there. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED AND SAD THAT I DIDN'T GET MY MONEY'S...
