Ho Wah | Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Richmond

I've been going to this place for about 30 years, however the owner that was there 25-30 years ago is no longer there. The front of the business is okay but can use an update, the cook's are no longer the same as well as the child labor laws are not in place. My husband and I once enjoyed the food, and the beef lomein was his favorite and my was the shrimp fried rice both of these dishes is not being prepared to the standards that they have been in the past. I don't prefer to order anything more from this place it's awful and I don't see any future in supporting a business on this level..... Poor food preparation and not sure if the chicken is real chicken, be careful and check your order and food before making a purchase.... On a scale of 1 -10 I will give this restaurant a 1 however 25 year's ago I was giving them a 10.... The worst sweet and sour chicken I have ever seen and it didn't even look like real chicken wasn't sure what to think but it wasn't appealing or...

Up until today, I have always been satisfied with Ho Wah restaurant. Today they dropped the ball. I ordered orange chicken. This is the only place I have ever ordered orange chicken from since being in Richmond. As soon as I opened the container, I knew it wasn't the same as the other times. When I started eating it, I was more convinced. It was very dark and very hard. This usually happens when the food is left in the basket over the hot grease after it's cooked. I ended up leaving more than half uneaten. I probably will not order orange chicken from here again. This was a carry out order and I was not going to go back to the restaurant. The Chinese get offended when people complain about the food and from my personal experiences, sometimes things happen, not to say that Ho Wah would do that. Today was a big disappointment. I'm left unsatisfied and...

Terrible customer service! I called in and prepaid my order and was told I would have a 45-60 minute wait. Nearly 1.5 hours later, I call to check on the status of my delivery and asked the person who answered the phone to call the driver and be sure my order was not taken to the wrong place, and she was very short with me. Did not want to hear me out after I explained that gps may take driver to wrong address...she did not do much to reassure me. I waited and wound up calling back, and the same person, again, was short with me. She gave me the driver's number and insisted I call him...I did, and about 15 minutes later, he finally showed up, unfortunately for me, my order was incorrect. On top of all of that the food was just "ok". I have had better! Will never spend money...
