This is large portion comfort food, made fresh on the spot, and it's not just tacos. Food and bottled drinks only, no alcohol. Order in either Spanish or English and don't be afraid to Google anything you see on the menu, that you don't know about, before ordering.

Expect up to a 10 minute wait, during peak lunch time or if it's slow, and it's so worth it. Listen out for your order somewhere other than the register area, and move back to register area when your order is called out; you'll need to tell, or point out, any toppings (cheese, lettuce, pico, etc...). Pro-tip, watch for the person who was in front of you... you're usually next.

Parking is available, and most people order take out during peak lunch as seating is limited. The AC works, and when it's not packed, it a chill spot to sit down and eat. Lots of smiles behind the counter and an open grill area filling the small space with smells of home cooking. Expect to bag your to-go order, if you really need one. They are to the left of the register.

Combo #2 steak, chicken, chorizo!, flour tacos (comes with rice and beans), and a Mexican Coke in the glass bottle...

I've been here for many years, as the food is authentic and delicious. But, things have changed a bit since the pandemic and no longer the place I once couldn't get enough of..

The food is good, the staff is attentive(all women workforce), but is no longer that secret taco place and now it's quite busy during lunch.

Some items have been downsized such as the self serve sauce salsa area, and prices have gone up significantly; A taco is nearly $4 and a combo is nearly $14... If you plan to order during lunch, a typical wait can be upwards of 30 minutes, along with the run down dining area, and the terrible parking situation(sometimes double parked) has made it a place I have less frequented.

I tend to have a craving and although I'm satisfied with my meal; the dining experience is a bit of a slog. There are equally competitive taco places nearby which can lead to a happier lunch experience due to cleaner and better designed facilities.

Therefore, if you want the best experience, I recommend this place only for take out and order before or after...

I wanted to call and personally speak to someone, as well as leave a good review on Google, but I couldn’t get through. I just wanted to thank the two ladies that served me and my boyfriend when we visited the restaurant for a to go order. Jefferson Davis gets a bad name me personally I don’t like Jefferson Davis lol, but I looked at the reviews at this location and decided to give it a shot, Based off of the appearance, I’ve never been wanted to judge a book by its cover when it comes to good food. Myself and my boyfriend ordered beef and chicken taco combos, and they were so delicious I Greatly appreciate how sweet the ladies were and the quality of food that was served to us. May God wrap his arms around the people that work in this restaurant and may God continue to bless this business It’s definitely A breath of fresh air to be able to get Wonderful service like this in this day and age and we will most definitely be back 100 times over....

No matter how you cut it, trying to settle on the best Mexican spots in S Richmond is likely to be a controversial endeavor. This small family-owned restaurant might be labeled as a typical S Ricmond, hole-in-the-wall for some, but the kitchen delivers hot and delicious Mexican food. The results are nothing less than delicious. The dining room is small and nondescript type locals spot. It's not your run-of-the-mill taco shop. Here you'll find fresh produce sourced from local farms and combined with the unique and traditional flavors of Mexico: bright green cilantro, chipotle chiles, Oaxacan cheese, and soft, pillowy tortillas, The menu is small, but you can't go wrong with any of the seven specialty tacos. There are also specialty quesadillas, burritos and combo plates. Artful, authentic and always tasty, the tacos here are exquisite. A great part of the allure of Taco Mexico. I liked it so much, I want to make luv to this place. Lol

Stopped by for lunch based on the reviews. Ordered combo #2, one chicken taco, one steak taco and one barbacoa taco, beans, rice and a drink. All that for $10 was not a bad price. The meat was very flavorful and everything tasted really fresh. I particularly enjoyed the chicken taco. The toppings were hidden behind the counter, so I was unable to see all that were available. Beans and rice were ok to me, nothing special. There were additional toppings on a steel tray off to the side that were not covered, which looked a little questionable. I could see what some people were saying about the place being cleaner. Seating is limited, so get there early if you plan to eat in.
