While we appreciate the history of Rico and the Enterprise Bar, our experience there was miserable. We got there at 11 mistakenly thinking they opened then - they open at noon but the lady working the bar said she would get the place open early, in probably 10 or 15 minutes - we waited half an hour then ran an errand for some fuel, etc - back at noon, she had just opened and we approached the bar and asked if we needed to order at the bar and she said she would wait on us at our table - we got a beer and mixed drink and made it clear we planned to eat. About 12:20 the place was completely overrun with ~ 25 bikers and the lady was apparently incapable of balancing serving existing customers while taking orders from the new arrivals - we finally flagged her down and asked for a 2nd round of drinks - she took our empty glasses and never returned despite numerous attempts to get her attention - when we had been there an hour, gotten only one beer and one mixed drink, no second round and no opportunity to order food, we threw a $20 bill on the bar and left - unfortunately that probably left her a nice tip but we were done and wanted out of there as fast as possible. Doesn't matter how historic a place is, if you can't get a beer and a burger,...
Read moreOnce again, we gave the Enterprise another go. Stu, Stu, Stu, though you'll try, you just can't justify (or rectify) this anymore. We ordered a pizza - ½ pepperoni, ½ "I want it all" and received a full "I want it all". It promptly came with an apology explaining the cook failed to make the correct pizza then, popped in a pepperoni (at no charge) and it'd be out in "8 minutes". 15 minutes later, our 2 guests were served a (burnt) pizza. In hindsight, I had to wonder why the Server would consider serving it. Understood. (BTW, she did her job well).
So far this summer, we have avoided this restaurant however, a few evenings ago we knew there was no alternative as we passed through Rico.
The inconsistency has been consistent! We've come to the conclusion that we just can't trust your establishment to deliver a consistently good experience as evident in "other...
Read moreWe sat for an hour waiting for food. After painstakingly taking our order on her handhald device (the kitchen was two feet from our table) the "waitress/bartender" proceeded to chase a six top away, telling them that the kitchen closed at 4:30. We inquired about whether or not we'd be served and she assured us that all was well. She managed to get us a second round of beer and continued to tell us that our food would be right up... When I asked the kitchen staff why there were no sounds of cooking coming from the kitchen, you guessed it - they never received the order and stomped around the bar, basically angry at us, the customers for interrupting their OFF HOUR! If you're looking for a dive bar, you've found it, only it's not frequently open. And, skiers on their way home from Telluride, don't...
