Agave Azul Tacos and Tequila — Restaurant in Ridgeland

First, difficult to find! Second underwhelmed, only because we're looking for a Mexican restaurant near us that serves food less bland. Where is the chili? The cumin, the garlic, the flavor?? The meal was just ok. The service was great. The music was too loud, but our server was so happy he was singing - and that was wonderful. My taco was terrible (cold over fried hard shell overpowering the great steak, cilantro and onions - but the shell fell into pieces and was a mess), my enchilada was terrible (the tortilla was..? Too strong a flavor for the bland cheese, the ranchero sauce was good, but the cheese :(.. I poured salsa from the table on everything to try to find flavor)... the groubd beef burritos my girl chose were really good. The groubd beef chimi my guy bought had shredded beef instrad, not the best, and x not what he wanted) it was just ok. Nothing was perfect, but our singing waiter. OH, wait, the rice and beans, the chips, salsa and soda (uncharacteristically FULL OF CARBONATION!!!) Were really good! If you want chips, salsa and a coke (served with a smile), I highly recommend.

*I wanted to comment on the plating. The dishes looked wonderful! The visual portion of a meal is so important, and the kitchen staff should be proud, they did...

We've been here many times now, so it's time to update my review!! We've come to make this a weekly must-do. We always sit at the bar. This was our first time having the lunch menu and I love that they serve steamed vegetables and rice with the quesadilla at lunch!! I really wish they offered the vegetables as an option at dinner, and perhaps they do if asked? Idk So today, my husband's a real character and well I love tequila, my husband ordered me a drink almost as big as my head...and I drank it. 💭 It was goooood, too. If you like tequila and citrus, fresh squeezed citrus(!), you e gotta try this! So, so good. I can't tell you the name but I'm posting a photo and I made sure to slide in the menu. You'll see the drink as well as the menu with the name. Give it a twirl! Yummy. Not too boozy so don't be afraid of it, but do have the capacity to hold that much liquid!! It was the highlight of...

I wrote a review in January, 2025 that didn't have a good rating at all. Now, 6 months later, we thought we'd try the restaurant again. WOW! What a big difference! We were very pleased with everything, from greeting, to table size, to waiter, to portion size, to food - what a difference 6 months make! We had Dennis as our waiter - he was fantastic - very attentive! And he hustled! The food was so much better this time. We will definitely go back.

I would make a suggestion or 2 - 1st on the menu I would add what meals comes with beans and rice, and which ones don't. It's currently confusing.

Also, I would check the online menu. Currently you can't access the menu, because when you try, there's a pop-up window regarding take out. You can't get past that thing. And, you can't get to the main menu.
