Update: Note to the owners. Don't blame your customers for your mistakes. I did check my order before I left and I had two Bambinos in my bag, just like I was supposed to have. The problem is one was entirely the wrong flavor. I got a huge kick in the mouth with jalapeno and super spicey sausage when I was expecting ranch dressing. No need for me to call you, I won't bother coming to your restaurant again based on you shifting the blame for everything to your customers. Own your mistakes. Say, "I'm so sorry we got that wrong." Not, "I'm sorry you misunderstood me." Which by the way is NOT an apology.

They got my order wrong in the drive thru but I was already on the highway when I realized it. I only ordered two Bambinos, nothing else. One of them was the spicey jalapeno instead of the chicken ranch that I ordered. Way too spicy for my liking. It was a super slow drive thru as well. Waited about 15 minutes for the cars ahead of me to get through. Seems like some menu items take forever and maybe shouldn't be on a drive thru menu. I like that the food is cooked fresh when you order, but there's got to be a better way to get orders out to the drive thru. I've noticed the responses to reviews say to order online or call ahead if you don't want to wait in the drive thru. Thing is, if I'm already on the road and decide I want food, I can't easily look up the phone number and menu while I'm driving. That's kind of the whole point of a drive thru, to serve people who are driving. Don't encourage cell phone use while driving. Tune up your restaurant to compete in this fast...

I'm going to go ahead and edit my original review because the owner took such offense to me suggesting his establishment served nothing more than "stoner food" or "drunk food." You don't have to be a stoner or a drunk to understand what those things are as the owner so rudely implied of me, but I'll change my review to be a bit more "family oriented."

So, here is the update...

As a retired Navy Officer, I have had the wonderful experience of dining in all sorts of restaurants, cafes, diners, etc. throughout the world, including several cities in Italy. I have eaten in many places in Naples, Rome, Civitavecchia, Aviano, Sigonella, Catania, and probably a half-dozen other towns.

The Great Bambino serves some of the worst "Italian" food I have ever had. It was disgusting. It was greasy, bland, and rather overpriced for the amount of food received. It sat on our stomachs like a brick. The only time I have ever had worse Italian food was at a place in Upstate New York. To top it all off, the owner is a pompous, arrogant prude who, instead of replying to criticism of his establishment like a normal restaurateur, elects to leave snarky comments about the reviewers. He may have "family values," but has little to no culinary values.

Don't eat at this place. It's nastier...

Went to get bambinos for dinner and used to waiting a little while but tonight was out of control. Me and my husband ordered two aloha bambinos and the monday special ($1.50 off any bambino with onion rings and a bottled water or soda). We pull up to the window and paid for our meal. We waited 15 mins at the window after paying while the employees running the front goofed off and didnt bother to tell us it may take a little longer for us to get our food. Finally when brynlie (she took our order and was at the window) gave us our "food", we looked and only had our three bambinos. We politely asked where our onion rings and water were and she gave us attitude saying,"they are in the bag." We responded showing her what she handed us, " there's only bambinos. On the menu it says $1.50 off any bambino with ONION RINGS AND BOTTLED WATER OR SODA." She then got the water and still gave attitude when we asked for our onion rings a 2nd time. She finally got us our onion rings and never apologized for the wait and rudeness she gave. Extremely disappointed. Would love to give less than 1 star due to rude service and not getting our order for 15 mins then not...

I visited Bambino’s with my brother and grandma because of a recommendation from a family member (We were just running some errands in Rexburg). However it was not what we expected. Here’s some of the reasons why: - The fries were the best part of our meal (the fries were actually pretty good) >> Like other reviews mentioned the food did not taste fresh. The three of us each ordered 2 bambino’s in a meal but we each only ate 1 bambino because they were mediocre and later lost our appetite (read below to see why) - The customer service was also like other reviews stated - not great - We chose to opt for water instead of drinks however when we received our bottles of water we later realized that my grandmas water had already been open and there was less water in her bottle than in our water bottles >> but an employee did give her a new water bottle - My brother found a piece of hair in his Bambino Bag Overall we decided that we wouldn’t go again. However if you’re looking for something different and new experience you might have better luck than we did! :)

The Great Bambino use to be in the middle of town and went by the name of La Pizzeria. Their Bambinos have been an iconic item for Rigby. For a short time they expanded to Rexburg and Idaho Falls, but are back to having just one store on the North side of Rigby. They have typically taken my order pretty quick, but most of the time they are pretty slow at getting the food brought out or handed to me through the drive-through. The dining area is not huge and the booth seats are wore out, and the place frequently can be found little messier than some other food places. The Bambinos as I would describe them are like in inside out pizza that is deep fried. I think they're really good, but I do think they need to lower the price of them. If it is your first time trying a bambino I recommend the Classic Bambino. If you have time I recommend you stop and give them a try.
