Drunken Octopus — Restaurant in Rincón

I stumbled upon this gem during my recent trip to Rincon and was completely blown away. The Drunken Octopus may be new to the scene, but they're already mastering the art of coastal cuisine and craft cocktails.

The Octa Rita is a must-try - a creative mezcal-based cocktail that perfectly balances smoky and citrus notes. Their fish tacos deserve special mention - remarkably fresh with unique flavor combinations that set them apart from anything I've tried elsewhere.

What truly elevates this place is the warm hospitality. Owner Brenda and her family create such a welcoming atmosphere that you immediately feel like a regular. Their passion for quality food and genuine service is evident in every detail.

The waiter who helped us was very nice. That's it for the positives. We ordered drinks and my lime mojito came with no flavor at all. Sent it back and the bartender added the last bit of mix they had - still nasty. Ordered a couple of empanadillas, those came in a reasonable time and were nice and hot. Unfortunately they had minimal filling, and that was flavorless. Also ordered tacos. 30 minutes later I asked for them to go. 15 minutes later we got them. They were stone-cold. My wife didn't even try the shrimp tacos out for fear of getting sick. I tried my steak tacos and they were not good at all - low-quality, limp, tortillas, iceberg lettuce, and almost no sauce. There was no excuse for this as we were the only customers there who ordered food at the time. Just an overall bad...

We were one of two couples dining and it took 45 minutes for us to get nachos and fried fish with rice. When we expressed concern the manager came to our table and argued with us that it was not a “bar” and that everything is made from scratch. The sign says “bar and restaurant” so the issue is either the sign and branding, or the fact that the food was mediocre enough that it really should not have taken 45 minutes and I don’t believe it was all made from scratch.
