Definitely make reservations. We went for an early dinner so we could enjoy some quiet before the dinner rush. The staff was kind. It seemed as though our waitress was spread thin going between the bar and dining area though as it took some time to get our check after we had finished and our table had already been cleared. Other than needing more staff to help the core staff this place is amazing. The food was on point I had a garden salad with a classic ranch along with the 8oz. Filet with mashed potatoes and the veggies of the day was asparagus. I also tried a specialty drink called the wood bound kiss. It was very tasty. I could have had another. My husband had the French onion soup and Bolognese. He stated how fresh the pasta was. The bread that was provided was amazing along with the seasoned butters along side. Herbs or cinnamon were the choices this evening.big tips to the bus boy as he was very attentive and on top of clearing the table. The environment was beautiful and rustic modern. They had seating for small and large groups and were handicap accessible. We will for sure be returning and hopefully bringing others with us to enjoy in the future.

Heard a couple good comments about the Grove restaurant at the Woodbound Inn so we thought we'd give it a try. VERY VERY LONG wait for everything: 15 minutes for our first drink, over 30 minutes for our dinner, more than 15 minutes for the check, and it was not a busy Thursday evening. We ordered the Scallop Piccata $32 and the Chicken Marsala $22. For the price of the meals, the portions were very small, especially considering they do not include bread, soup or salad with the entrees. The food was okay, nothing out of this world, so I would not return to this restaurant based on the overall experience. The musician was amazing and the ambiance was fantastic but the food and service left a lot to be desired.

The Woodbound Inn is a hidden gem! The food for brunch was fantastic! They had pastries, and omelet bar, Eggs Benedict, chicken alfredo, shepherd's pie, roasted veggies, jasmine rice, desserts and all were absolutely delicious! I will definitely go there for brunch or dinner again. You can stay at the historic inn and they also have cute rustic cabins that you can rent that overlook lake Contoocook lake and fabulous views of Mt. Monadnock. I highly recommend it.

Patio ordering yourself from app sucks..takes away from dining. Basically order everything yourself and then expect you to leave a tip. Also try to sneak in another % fee that no one can explain which my bank took back off the charge. We use to spend 100's of dollars there a month especially during dualling piano nights. Haven't been back or won't return just over the principal. The manager and bar Manger tried to do nothing to make any compromise not even a free glass of wine. 1 glass of wine compared to the hundreds spent just to acknowledge what we were saying. Morons. So we go elsewhere now. Also the new BBQ is over priced and sucks compared to southern BBQ. Chef says he is from Texas but the food is very dry and coleslaw ya mide as well just eat a cabbage leaf. Collards were good but I'd say you could get better with a can of old glory from the grocery store and just ass apple cider vinegar. Anyways..I don't go to either but that's just my opinion you may like both. We need more good food around this area that's why people travel to other spots to get good food no matter how much they spend. I will shout out to the new Mexican place in Fitzwilliam always good fast and reasonable priced..consistent. that my new favorite for...

The Grove offers a buffet on Wednesday nights. My wife and I chose the buffet for our visit. The good bits .. the restaurant was very clean and seemed to be recently renovated, the waiter and other staff were kind and helpful, and the kitchen cooked up some fresh sirloin tips for us when we arrived because the ones on the buffet line were old ... not something we pointed out to them. Business was slow, and the buffet consisted of only caesar salad, bread rolls, steamed white rice, steamed carrots, ,broccoli, poached salmon and steak tips. The limited amount of choices was unfortunate, but also the quality of the individual items was not good. The salad was quite old and the croutons wee soggy, the vegetables were uninspired, and the sirloin tips, while well flavored, were quite tough. The desserts, which did not appear to be made in house, were fine.

I'm sure we'll find ourselves back there at some point in the future to order off of their regular menu, but for us, the buffet was...
