Meat Preacher — Restaurant in Rio Vista

Finally stopped by to try the Meat Preacher and it did not disappoint. I’ve eaten at so many Texas BBQ joints and smoked many briskets myself, and let me tell you, no one has anything on the Meat Preacher! We tried the sliced brisket, chopped brisket, ribs, sausage, turkey, Mac-n-cheese, and potato salad. Everything was cooked to perfection. The meats were all smoked with just the right amount of smoke, was tender and moist, and the portions are huge! And make sure you try the smoked turkey. I could smell the turkey as soon as I opened the box. It was so delicious! I happened to stop by on my birthday so as a bonus the Preacher prepared a small sample of his creations for me to try. BEST BBQ I HAVE EATEN! Meat Preacher has so many wonderful options to choose from. The brisket is juicy and flavorful. You can get that as a sandwich, tacos, on nachos, or by the pound. There is beef sausage and jalapeno cheddar sausage. On different days, he has ribs, barbacoa, fajitas (beef and chicken), huge baked potatoes, smoked chicken spaghetti, turkey, smoked bologna, and Texas twinkies (jalapenos filled with brisket and cream cheese and wrapped in bacon). The sides are mac and cheese, charro beans, potato salad, Mexican corn, and smoked queso. Another thing is not only can Meat Preacher cook well, but he also has a big heart. He is always helping others. This is definitely a food truck you are going to visit again and again.

I had been wanting to try this place for a while now but couldn’t never get to him before they were closed or sold out. Luckily the stars finally aligned and we made it down. We had sliced brisket, turkey, sausage, a Texas Twinkie, and a chopped brisket sandwich all of which were CRAZY good. It is real Texas BBQ and you can taste all of the aspects of that. When they found out it was our first time here they also proceeded to give us samples while we waited. Great customer service and great BBQ. My only critique would be the sides weren’t quite on par with the level of flavor that everything else has. 100% recommend and will be back!
