I usually don’t leave reviews, but after multiple disappointing visits, I feel like I need to share my experience.
The customer service at this place is consistently rude and unprofessional. On a previous visit, I asked a simple question, and instead of helping me, one of the girls in the back (who makes the espresso and drinks) seemed to not understand what I said—fine, that happens. But then I overheard her in the back laughing and mocking what I said with her coworkers. When I approached the server again to clarify my order, that same girl rolled her eyes at me. It was incredibly disrespectful.
Despite that, I decided to give the place another chance today. I ordered an espresso and placed my things on a table before taking my kids to wash their hands. As we were coming back, I saw that my drink had already been brought out. What upset me was seeing a boy from the table next to mine leaning over, touching, and even smelling my drink. His mom told him to stop, but the damage was done. I hadn’t even taken a sip yet.
I asked the server if I could have a new one made, explaining what had happened. She went to the back to ask the girls who make the drinks. After about five minutes of gossiping and chatting, the server returned and told me I would have to pay for a new one. Seriously?
I’m shocked at the lack of basic customer service. Any respectful establishment would understand that no one wants a drink a stranger has touched—especially in front of you. The fact that I wasn’t even offered a replacement without charge is extremely disappointing. Add that to the rude attitude and unprofessional behavior from the girls in the back, and it’s safe to say I won’t be returning.
It’s unfortunate, because this place could be great. But until the staff—especially the ones making the drinks—are properly trained in customer service and professionalism, I can’t recommend...
Read moreFound this spot on Google because I wanted coffee. Figured I would grab a bite to eat while there since I could see a baked good windows prep.
Walking in, it's an adorable spot, but I didn't know it was a mini restaurant. Being that the name was Cafe, I assumed coffee and small edible items. While I stood under one sign (order here), I wasn't seen or addressed by staff.
I looked up and saw another "order here" sign and moved under that one. Within a moment or two, I was finally asked what I would like to order. They were pleasant and friendly. *although the coffee I ordered was not what I expected. (It was a mini cup - I'm assuming it was due to the "name of the drink"). Yes, I asked what the coffee was "Cortado", not knowing it was a mini drink. They told me the ingredients, but, no warning on the size of the drink. I will say, it tasted good. Just wished for a regular cup.
Being that this was my 1st time at the establishment, I was not aware about the other "items" you could get and not until I got my baked goods, were the menus placed on the counter. Bummer, cause I would have ordered something different.
So, altogether the place was quaint and adorable, for 1st timers, not familiar with their menus, (and no signs present when you look up - the monitors only show the coffee and drinks), it might be better for staff to inform guests of full...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Palo Santo Cafe in Riverbank, California, and the experience was absolutely amazing! The food was a true revelation. I can confidently say I have never had better Mole Sauce anywhere—the owner shared that it's made with 40 different spices, and you can taste the complexity and passion in every bite. Exceptional Service and Personal Touch What truly set this visit apart was the service. The owner personally came out to serve and speak with us, sharing wonderful details about their kitchen. She described how her husband had just made the very first batch of gelato and even walked us through the intricate process they use to create both the famous mole and the delicious cheesecake. I have never been treated so great by any other host or owner—it felt incredibly welcoming and special. Beyond the main meal, the dessert selection was equally impressive. I absolutely love the gelato, and the variety offered was fantastic. But the showstopper was the cheesecake; it was so incredible that I just had to take two slices home! If you're in the area, Palo Santo Cafe is a must-visit for top-notch food, phenomenal desserts, and truly heartfelt, personal service. Highly,...
