Taqueria San Jose — Restaurant in Riverbank

If I could give them negative stars I would. They gave me the wrong food it was not what I ordered and it was all made sloppy and just thrown in boxes my tostadas should have been ceviche but they gave me asada and it was all soggy and gross. I then called to see if they could correct my order and the woman that answered the phone was extremely rude. I started to tell her what happen with my order and the other phone started to ring she told me hold on in the middle of me talking and answered the other phone and took their entire order before getting back on the phone with me. San Jose Taqueria is quintessential 209 Taqueria-fare: extra average food at high prices. You're going to drop $3 on a get-it-yourself drink and $8 on really forgettable food. I stopped by at noon on a Thursday and no one was there--except some old guy talking to himself and me. For 30 minutes no one came in the place. This should be your first clue. On a weekday at lunch time a restaurant has no one in the place: there's a problem.

At some point, we will get better Mexican food. When is anyone's guess, but San Jose...

I've come here a couple times. Atmosphere: is subpar and has a this will have to do kind of feel. Food: My burrito was mushy with little flavor. Hubby said please don't go there again...The chips are the cheapest kind from the grocery store style, the ones with the little brown corn bits showing. The salsa bar was very much appreciated.
