Mojo's Coffee Drive Thru — Restaurant in Riverside

I worked as a roaster and own 2 coffeehouses. Service was quick and pleasant. The employees were great. I ordered a large iced latte and large black coffee. The latte was weak. It tasted like a double in a triple cup. Good flavor just tasted very diluted. The vanilla flavoring was weak as well. I believe they espresso was lighter to chestnut roast, which gives it a nice nutty flavor. However, the shot was weak. The flavor was actually very good. There just wasn't enough. The coffee is the same deal. Good flavor, but it tasted diluted. I recommend to the manager to time the shots on the espresso machine, make sure it's 25 seconds. If that's not a problem, you're not adding enough shots. It should be. single double triple depending on cup size. The coffee you should weigh your coffee to brew, don't use a measure cup. Make sure the brewer is at 200°. Check your grinder. Faster brewer needs a finer grind. Mojo has great tasting coffee. It just needs to be dialed in. Coffee brewers, grinders, and espresso mech are not tuned straight out of the box. You have to dial each one to work in harmony with the other. Açaí redemption arc COMPLETE.

Okay so… confession: I used to have beef with Mojo’s — and by “beef” I mean a mild emotional crisis over how little açaí was in my bowl. Like, I blinked and it was gone. I thought maybe I got the toddler-sized portion by accident.

BUT THEN… I said something. And ever since? They’ve been serving up açaí bowls like they’re trying to apologize to my soul. Full. Loaded. Overflowing. I almost needed a life raft for how much fruit was in there.

Besides that one little hiccup, this place is amazing. The vibes? Immaculate. The coffee? Better than therapy. The staff? 10/10, would trust them with my houseplants and my deepest secrets.

My cappuccino was, sorry to say, terrible. It was a nice cup of coffee. Price was great but I don't think they know what cappuccino should taste like. First I asked for it dry. It was clear the very nice and engaging associate taking my order did not know what that meant. To the associate's credit an equivalent name for it was found on the menu. I asked for 2 shots, to me that means 2 portions of esspresso. What I got was a very large cup of coffee with lots of milk. I'm sure their food is fine but cappuccino, a coffee product with coffee in thier name, needs work. I hope...
