Carini's Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Roanoke Rapids

Basic Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown Roanoke Rapids. I ate here on my way through the area based on a recommendation by the hotel front desk. This is just an old and tired restaurant in the middle of an old and tired downtown. Not even the sign has its name on it anymore. That said, there are some redeeming qualities that seem to bring people in. The red sauce is surprisingly good and while the amount of mozzarella on the dishes could choke a horse, at least the chicken was good quality and tender. The salad was watery and tasteless, and what itialian restaurant doesn't have a vinegrette dressing. The garlic bread was devoid of garlic and lukewarm to boot. They offer 6 generic wines...merlot, etc. but don't hold your breath for anything of substance. I was never asked about dessert or even if I wanted another glass of wine. But the prices were right. I got out of there for less than $25 with tip. Bottom line, if you must eat in this area and you must have italian food, then i would imagine this is a good a place as any around these parts. We honestly tried to give this place a shot...a couple of times. We ordered the Supreme pizza to-go. It was sorta OK. Some of the ingredients were pretty sub-par and weren't cooked all the way/raw. For whatever reason, they never show a tally on their receipts. And our bill was way more than what was shown on the menu by the register.

Someone in town suggested we try the pasta. That...was a terrible mistake! Both dishes were made incorrectly and we had ordered to-go. Being too tired to drive all the way back to the restaurant, I simply called and asked for a refund. They said they wouldn't refund me, but would make it for us again! Well, we did that option and it was absolutely disgusting. We both had stomach issues the next couple of days. We have never returned, never will.

This isn't Italian food. I have been to Italy. The pizza and other food items look like the junk served during high school lunch. Plus, the restaurant is dirty, dated, and the staff incredibly rude. Save your time and money. Go...

I will never again order from this place I have been twice the first time I ordered I got a text alert my order was ready but when I got there my cheese sticks and drink were not made and then I ended up waiting 40 mins to get my cheese sticks which I didn’t even get to eat because I waited so lunch my lunch break was over. Today I ordered the same thing minus the cheese sticks and never received a text stating it was ready so went in to pick it up and the girl in the front with a major attitude tells me they tried to call me twice (bs) and that they only put cheese because I didn’t pay for extra topping when I ordered the same exact pizza last time and they didn’t mention anything about it. So I asked to just cancel my order and get a refund but the girl told me I couldn’t I would have to go through slice. This place is literally the worst service I’ve ever received in my life.
