Update: 7/31/23 Basil's had a strong run out the gate, but it feels as if time and complacency has caught up with them. Far too many mistakes are being made on a daily basis. Between cashiers not entering in the correct order requested by the customer, kitchen staff not putting the right amount of toppings/ingredients in the order, or just flat out leaving a purchased item out of the bag altogether. The repetitiveness of the mistakes are raising a lot of questions for those who have supported since the opening. While I can say they will attempt to fix the errors if you bring it to their attention, how does that impact delivery customers who aren't able to eat the cost of another Uber eats or doordash service to fix the mistake? Or the family that travels a distance to utilize Basil's services and then returns home only to find out their order they expected to be correct for the price they paid is not correct and now has to make the decision to travel back across town or chalk it up as a loss to never return to the restaurant again? Do better Basil's. The NW community was hoping for a lot from this establishment, but each week I check the reviews it seems like expectations are not going to be met over time. Prime location on Williamson Rd that is not living up to the hype. And with the absence of a competing establishment right beside it now, business should be booming but that doesn't seem obtainable much longer without fixing the internal pitfalls.

This is my third time at Basil’s and every time I am here it is such a great experience! Customer Service is top notch! Food is incredible! From the live basil plants in and out of the building to the dining room the atmosphere is clean and accommodating. I have a disability and a large family and every time we are here, customer service never treats us poorly because of it. They always accommodate our needs. This food is wow! I have four boys and their favorite pizza is the Alfredo pasta pizza. Ours is the margarita but they have so many options! Not to mention this is one of the few places in Roanoke that has fresh basil on their pizza! Their steak and cheese sub is so gooey and the baked bread is incredible. Even their French fries are above average seasoned well and crispy. The tea is never sour and if you aren’t in the mood for pizza calizones and Stromboli, they have Mediterranean and pastas too! I’m convinced this is my new favorite place here in Roanoke! The friendly service itself was enough to keep us but this place does everything right! They even have a drive thru if you are in a hurry!! Just so thankful they are here and hope they never change! Enjoy!!

UPDATED:We stopped for a quick takeout of pizza because it's so close to where my grandchildren live. Wow, what a gem. The service was quick, friendly, and helpful. The pizza was excellent. The toppings were fresh and ample. The crust had very good flavor. They have a very extensive menu, including pasta, Greek items, desserts, and a kids menu. And they are a full halal kitchen. The prices all were very good. Came back this year to visit the grandkids. Today it was lunch. Ordered the Super sub. Absolutely excellent. Fresh bread, high quality meats, extremely fresh veggies. Well balanced. Now I know why all the national sub chains are ranked 3 stars in this town. This place is a gem.

If I could rate less than one on service I definitely would. I ordered a turkey and bacon sub off of Uber Eats. Before ordering I called the restaurant to make sure a turkey bacon sub with something I could order. They told me yes it was. They asked me to place my order and call back in and they would add the instructions to the order to put my tomato lettuce and onion on the side and add bacon, as we were having a problem ordering it that way on uber eats. They asked us to call back in 5 minutes after the order had been placed and they would write the information on the ticket. I'm not sure why they didn't just take down what I wanted and add it to the ticket, but I did as they requested. They then informed me that the Uber Eats app did not charge correctly for add-ons, and that my bacon would be an extra $1.50. I told her normally I would complain about that but that I really wanted bacon on my turkey sandwich so I would pay it. When my food got to me and I opened my sandwich up there were some little pieces of what looked like turkey ham sprinkled through the middle of my sandwich which was cheap sliced turkey. When I called the restaurant to ask them what they had put on my sandwich and why I didn't have any bacon...... they told me they don't serve pork products. Never once through any of my other conversations with them when I was adamantly saying how much I wanted bacon did they bother to tell me that they do not sell pork products. When I asked them why they didn't tell me that before they charged me a $1.50....... they hung up on me. I should have just nuked a hot pocket. I would have...

I was craving pizza, and was tired of the national chains so I decided to try Basil, as their menu was in the lobby of my hotel. I went online and ordered a double pepperoni pizza, french fries, onion rings and a slice of cheesecake. I was quoted a time of 35- 45 minutes. It took about ten minutes longer than that, and after calling the restaurant I was told the driver had just left. A few minutes later my order arrived. As soon as I opened the french fries, there was so much condensation in the container. I opened the onion rings hoping for a better product, but no. They were both super soggy. I tried one onion ring and it was disgusting. When ordering the fries I had requested salt and pepper for the fries. I got no salt or pepper, but 15 packets of ketchup. Called the restaurant almost immediately and complained about the soggy items that weren't edible. I was told they would remake them and I'd have them in 10 to 15 minutes. At the time of writing this review it has been 45 minutes, my pizza is long gone. The driver just returned, and the onion rings are actually edible, but the french fries are again soggy and disgusting. I also asked for an extra copy of the receipt for work, I never got any kind of receipt. Not very professional.

This was a nearly 50 dollar order and I can't even get french fries cooked correctly? I'll not spend another penny here, which is unfortunate because the pizza was VERY good. I'd ask for a refund on the fried foods, but at this point I've spent 2 hours dealing with this restaurant from the time i...

My son, who's in the USAF stationed in England, was just in for a 3 week visit. Our last night with his best friend over to have dinner, he sent a link to Basil Pizza for me to look at and said he thought it looked good. I live less than a mile away and pass there multiple times per week and have watched BP ever since the yellow and red chicken place closed, wondering if they would make it but never actually stopping by. And not for any good reason, either. 🤷‍♀️ Turns out I was a fool. THIS is going to be my new go-to! My son's best friend got a small pizza and some cheese sticks. My son got a calzone bigger than half a pizza! And I got a grilled chicken salad and some mini rolls with pepperoni. It took a little bit longer for the food to come out than it does in your average restaurant nowadays, but let me tell you it was absolutely worth it! All the baked items, minis, pizza, etc, were still hot when we got home, toppings were plentiful, and everything was super tasty. And the marinara for dipping was absolutely delicious! Then there's the grilled chicken salad... Under normal circumstances it's large enough it would make two meals for me... Since I had the minis and they come in groups of 10, they and the salad made three separate meals for me! Not too shabby for $20! Last, if you get too full or you just like to break things up like I do, don't despair, the minis heat up beautifully in the air fryer! Top that with the staff who were extremely friendly and helpful, and all in all it's an absolutely...
