One star is really harsh for my review style. I highly do not recommend this restaurant as Iâve given them many chances because theyâre so close to my house. I am a loyal customer and I tip well over 20% every time, as I am a server at another restaurant. No matter what, I tip very well because I understand not everything is my servers fault. Iâve had one server many times coming here, and every single time, she over charges me or charges me extra for something that another server does not charge extra for. Most recently I came in and had a menu item listed at $9.99. Listed on menu and everywhere online at $9.99. I was charged $11.99. The cashier said the prices changed and she couldnât change my ticket price. The manager then said there was nothing he could do either as the owners had not given them new menus yet or changed anything online, when prices changed over a month ago. Like I said I come at least every two weeks. I told them I knew they donât personally care but that I will not be back as a customer. Itâs very disappointing and frustrating. The restaurant I work at treats customers with more value, and I love where I work because we take care of much larger customer issues without a second thought. This location has proven terrible customer service to a very loyal and well-tipping, respectful customer. I have to let people know. Thanks for nothing, El Rodeo Williamson. Owners should consider their loyal, well-tipping and...
Read moreMe & my brother ate out @ El Rodeo 1 which is the Williamson Rd. locale earlier this week & had a good time... I noticed some negative reviews on here & I suppose it's to be expected, it ain't your grandma's house ! We ran into the owner, Augustine & I hadn't seen him in years, same ole good guy. He remembered me & Mark & stopped by for chat, asked us how we were doing & made sure we were set. I've personally always had good experiences @ their restaurants but your never gonna bat a thousand in the restaurant business, way too many variables & your just not gonna please everyone... I would suggest if you have a problem then talk to management, let them know, things never get fixed when people just leave mad. I always get to know the owners where I dine & most of them appreciate it & in the long run we always end up with free meals, drinks, discounts, whatever & make new friends. Restaurant owners love good publicity & people spending coin in there spot, approach your dining experience differently & you maybe surprised @ the...
Read moreThis is not the El Rodeo it has been over the last 30 years.
I miss the fine, salt-and-pepper haired gentleman who started as a server 25 years ago and ended up owning it. The food from that period was absolutely delicious, plentiful, and always reasonably priced.
Nowadays, there's a lot of loud, booming music at night, more of a nightclub atmosphere.
The food now is ok, though not NEARLY as good as it used to be, and is really what you could get at any other run-of-the-mill Mexican restaurant like this.
MY HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION is still for Mi Tapatia, just a couple of blocks down the road from this on Williamson...
Mi Tapatia's is AUTHENTIC Mexican, absolutely delicious, and well priced!
El Rodeo is still an ok place to go, and certainly a good place for the younger crowd to head to on Friday or Saturday.
**The only big negative is that the price is way too high on a street with lots of authentic Mexican joints with far superior food at a much better...
