Lupita's Tacos — Restaurant in Roanoke

First time trying this place. The young Gentleman who was working the front counter had a delightful disposition. Answered several questions I had. I ordered their $1 Taco Tuesday Special. You can only get Al Pastor and/or Carnitas. I ordered 3 Al Pastor & 2 Carnitas. Had them make it to go & brought back to work with me. I was disappointed when I opened the box to discover how small the Tacos were. However the robust flavor of each bite more than made up for the lack of stature! Each Taco had onion & cilantro on them. I squeezed lime, which they included, on each Taco. I also utilized their green hot sauce they included. Very tasty for sure 😋 I intend on going back to try a Torta, a sandwich they make. Hope the sizing is more appropriate, but if the flavor is equal to today.....then I'll be happy....

Lupita's tacos is amazing! Their tacos are super good and really hits the taco cravings. They do $1 carnitas and Al pastor tacos for Tuesday but other than that it's typically $2 for one taco. Be sure to order ahead because they make it to order and it may take a while.

The tacos dorados is really good too! The fried corn tortilla with the chicken, tomatoes, and lettuce go really well together. On the weekends they have pozole and menudo. Pozole is like a bean and meat soup which is very warming and hearty. Menudo is made of intestines and can be off putting if you aren't used to the taste but it's really good! It reminds me of a Cantonese dish at dim sum.

Quite a hidden gem. Solid. Nothing to complain about and for small taco joint, I’d label it six stars if I could.

Service is kind, prices are cheaper than most Mexican cuisine restaurants, and their tacos for only being a dollar a piece on Tuesday’s are unbeatable. Add some hot sauce to make them even better.

Might I also say, if you want an actual good arroz con pollo, in my opinion, this place has the BEST arroz con pollo I’ve ever tasted around here, and I don’t think I’ve ever tasted a better one either.
