I called to inquire if they have a simple vegetable roll as I did not see it on the menu. The worker that answered the telephone was rude to me and rushed me off the telephone by speaking fast and hanging up on me. I decided to still go there in person as my kids really wanted sushi and I figured it would be better than Market Basket sushi. When I arrived the worker was on the telephone taking an order which I believe she hung up on me to answer.. I again ask if they have vegetable rolls and was told yes. The female worker then told me she would do my order first (I called and got hung up on, though she didn't mention hanging up). I then went to leave and had my daughter check to make sure it is what she wanted and it was literally avocado and rice with 3 of the "rolls" smooshed and opened up. So of course no one wants to eat that. I drove home due to vehicle emergency and while heading home we called. Come to find out the female worker is indeed the Owner, how unprofessional. She then began speaking rudely egging my daughter on telling her to "come back then, little girl". We went back to get the refund and the Owner would not let us speak. On top of that her young daughter was sitting at a side booth snickering and laughing and proceeded to give us the finger due to us requesting a refund multiple times. Her posture was rude and extremely threatening and her daughters actions were extremely disrespectful. I will not go back there even if it were made right as this is an extremely...

unfortunately I am taking stars away as the menu prices have increased SEVERAL times in the last few months. My typical appetizer has raised 5+ dollars in price. If you think paying $10 for a salad smaller than a side salad I say go for it. The food here is delicious but it's your average go-to sushi place and in no way are some of these prices excusable. I'm really upset as me and a few others I know have decided to go to other places just for reasonable prices. I would like to continue to support A1 but I went from getting $100 worth of food from here a month to only $20 every 3 months because I don't think I'm getting my money's worth. It's pretty extreme and very heartbreaking because I love the service and atmosphere.

PREVIOUS REVIEW: EXCELLENT restaurant! I used to come here almost every day before I moved, I still drive down just to visit! The food is fresh, and VERY good! The prices are good and the staff are very nice, cool, and respectful, they do a very good job of making you feel welcome! Everything I've gotten from A1 has been absolutely phenomenal, whenever I pass by I always tell everyone in my car about how...

An okay stop for Japanese.

Surprisingly not a lot of flavor here. Almost everything felt muted, which is strange for Asian cuisine.

Started with miso soup, which was good. Shumai was a bit lacking in flavor, like it was over steamed or something. Crab rangoons were very crunchy but the filling was almost liquid. Tempura was nice and crispy. The teriyaki chicken in the bento box was more on the saltier side. California rolls were good, which is funny because I usually don't think much of them. The crunchy yellowtail rolls had more of an "oily" taste than the actual spice or the yellowtail's signature subtle sweetness. The spring roll filling was strangely mushy.

I'm not sure I'd come here again, but this is my second time and I clearly forgot that it wasn't great the first time. Maybe I'm just missing the mark with some of their dishes or should aim just for miso and sushi?

Waitress was very attentive and the atmosphere was very...

Food's good, atmosphere good, service decent however their online menu pricing is significantly outdated. Showed up with some friends for their $12.50 chicken teriyaki bento box, turns out it's $17.99. (44% hike) Showed waitress their menu from their website. Waitress said unfortunately those prices were from when they opened in 2014. (10 years out of date). I contacted their website host, Menusifu, as well to update their pricing for the A1 Japanese Steakhouse website. See 2 current photos of their menu with correct prices under their photos tab posted on 06-09-2024 as well as a screenshot of their current online menu bento box prices, which are false. Probably will go back, just hate showing up to a restaurant under false price pretenses.

Excellent good, great service. Those giving this place lower reviews were complaining about the waiting time. Well, if you have to wait, that means the place is really busy, and that means people think the place is constantly busy because it's so good! Those complaining about the food probably thought they were going to be getting kung pao chicken or something and didn't know what they were getting into. Only problem with this place is they need to expand for more seating!
