People take fast food for granted. Everywhere you turn there is some national chain ready to trade your money for their "food". And, these transactions are often so brief and impersonal that it is easy to forget that you are interacting with actual human beings (for now). People become cogs in the fast food machine like flesh and blood robots churning out product.
This kind of work environment lends itself to employees who are there because they don't have any other options. So, when you run into a restaurant where the employees consistently seem like they want to be there it is worth acknowledging. The Burger King in Rochester is such a place. I've seen seen tired people. I've seen busy people. But, I've never seen people who looked like they were strongly weighing the pros and cons of not coming back from break.
I specifically wanted to give a shout out to the man who opened today, 1/15/2022. I didn't catch his name but this guy is a true MVP. When I arrived, I didnt see a car and thought it was closed. Read moreFirst off it took us a half an hour to get our food. We were told that the burgers were in the fryalator and it would be about 6 minutes so we placed out order. There was a about 4 other customers waiting for burgers. They had one cook making the sandwiches and three other people wandering around. The young lady whom was at the counter taking orders was doing a great job keeping everyone from getting upset. I personally thought the manager should have been the one telling the customers after us that they couldn't take burgers orders. A drive thru person who had order about the same time came in and the manager gave them their money back plus two chickens sandwiches for the inconvenience. But didn't offer nothing to those waiting for 30. Eventually two other people came to work. When we finally got our food the burger bun were stale and the burger king Pattie very pink in the middle. We didn't have the time to take the food back cause we had to take my father and aunt back to the old folks home. Also found out that this Burger was the second one in the distract who ran out of patties. Really frustrated with...
