Here are the facts: On Sat., 8/16, we had a party of 20. Since we were staying at Great Oak Marina, we had a member of our party drive over there to place a reservation. Later, the rest of us drove over and waited for a table. While waiting, I noticed 3 tables in the corner that were empty. I inquired to see if we could be seated there. The hostess said there were no servers for those tables. Ok. After awhile, 2 separate tables became available, and our party split up. The table I sat at was next to the dance floor so I faced the band, not seeing behind us. Both tables gave there orders at about the same time. HERE'S where it starts. Our other table received there order. OUR ORDER DID NOT ARRIVE UNTIL WELL OVER 1 1/2 HOUR AFTER WE PLACED IT. THAT'S RIGHT. THIS IS NOT A TYPO. A member of our party informed me that she saw other people coming in after us, getting served and leaving !!!! The owner came out. I approached him in a calm manner and relayed the fact of the other parties being served before us and leaving. THE OWNER STARTED SCREAMING AT ME, SAYING HE WAS BUSY AND WHY DIDN'T WE MAKE A RESERVATION. I told him, that indeed,we did. Screaming and carrying on, he yells, your lucky I'm even serving you !!! Again, he was screaming at us,his customers, when, clearly, all we did was come to eat. None of us ordered alcohol. The food was very mediocre at best. The stuffed flounder was cold. The crab soup was hearty, but over peppered and had little or no crab meat whatsoever. This place is a tourist trap and the owner is in the wrong line of work. Stay away !!!! (I wished he did refuse to serve us, I would have filed a federal civil rights suit). NOTE: The server was great, it was not her fault. She did the best she could and took 10% off the tab Maybe the owner could learn something from her. We gave...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I got dinner here this evening, ordered the Watermans nachos (have shrimp, scallops, crab) and about 25-30 mins after eating them my boyfriend started feeling extremely nauseous and got sick in the bathroom. I also started to feel extremely sick. We notified the waitress and she had another waitress come back and tell us it was impossible to have food poisoning because it takes 24 hours (it does not, according to the CDC it takes 30 minutes to 8 hours to set in) and she also told us it was more likely that we BOTH had an undiagnosed seafood allergy.... as two people who frequent seafood restaurants on the east coast i find that next to impossible. We didn't touch our entrees and took the check, expecting at least the nachos would be taken off considering everything stated above... nope they were not. On our way home i proceeded to get sick twice on the side of the road. My boyfriend called the manager and explained the situation and asked he be refunded for the items with the bad seafood. The manager proceeded to say they sold other people the same dish and no one got sick so therefor it is impossible for us to be sick from the food. Told him there was nothing to be done and hung up the phone. INCREDIBLY awful customer service. Our concerns were completely disregarded and not only did we pay full price for some rotten scallops but we were treated like we were 5 year olds. Will never go back and advise anyone thinking about going to be cautious - especially considering there are many MUCH better restaurants in the area with staff who care about their...
Read moreLet me start by saying the food here was amazing....we had seafood dishes loaded with actual seafood....and it tasted great. Too bad the service was horrible.
The seafood nachos were loaded with shrimp, scallops, and lump crab meat.....great value and taste for the price. The cream of crab soup was thick, loaded with lump crab, and one of the best we have tried. The shrimp quesadilla wrap.....again, loaded with real shrimp, crab, etc. and cheese and delicious.....another amazing portion for the price. So again, amazing food.
The service however.....ugh. Our waitress was SO inattentive. We had to ask three times for salt and pepper. It took her 10 minutes to wait on us initially and another 10 minutes to get our drinks. Then another 10 to take our food order. Then she did not bring our drinks and we had to get another waitress to get them for us. Honestly, we thought she forgot we were there. She also said the frozen drinks we ordered could not be brought by the pitcher, which it clearly says on their menu that they can.....and then she charged us $8.50 each for them when it said online they were $5.....and she brought the drinks in small plastic cups.....not nearly a value for the money. The bill took forever. And she never came back for us to pay her. So we left cash with very little tip as the service sucked and we were not able to get change to leave more. It was ridiculous service. If the service had been decent, this place would have gotten 4...
