Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que — Restaurant in Rockford Township

This review is well overdue. I ordered catering for my birthday and worked with the catering manager to determine how much food I would need for 14 people. On the day of my food pick up my credit card for blocked by Chase for fraud since I was traveling and used it locally and the the restaurant charges it in the morning for my food order. I was busy cooking and getting the home ready for the party and missed the call from the restaurant. So when I got there at 11:30 they didn’t cook any of my food. Naturally I panicked and the manager came out to assure me that he had everything under control . He had the kitchen prep my order just in case I came in and it simply needed to be cooked. They whipped my order together in less than 30 minutes!! I M so grateful for the catering manager of this restaurant. He totally saved the day . I left a nice tip and I hop that he was able to get it if not I wold hope that the restaurant can give him some recognition and a nice $100 gift card as he is not only customer service oriented he’s also organized and a great communicator. Very impressed with the service I received and all of the food was delicious!!! Will definitely order again soon when I’m back...

Didn't go in that day. I had to get my covid testing done before my surgery and is was right around the corner from famous Dave's BBQ. But the food is great and the help a man and his two lil kids that was with him at the gastion getting gas. They kicked everybody out of the gas station right across the street when the tornado touchdown out there and I can't believe the gas station made everybody get out They locked them outside and he had no choice but to run over to famous Dave's and they barely seen him and they saved him and the kids that were with him from that tornado. So famous Dave's I give a big thumbs up and thank you for helping people in our community from getting hurt by the tornado And that's for the gas station across the street They need to be sued and we need to stand up and let them know how wrong they were for kicking people out of the store into the tornado especially with children our children are a future I still just can't believe they did that to that fam to them families and I'm just thank God that famous days was there to take them in at the right time. I only got knows what might have happened if that tornado got too close could have sucked them right...

We ordered the All American Feast last night as we usually do. So disappointing. It always fed 4 to 6 in the past with leftovers. Last nights feast just barely fed 4 adults and a child and no left overs. The chicken was a cornish hen size, the legs the size of a thumb. The brisket barely covered the bread and there were very few ribs. Even the potato wedges, usually plentifuI were at the most 1/2 as many as previously. The only thing sized the same were the beans and slaw. I thought it looked scarce upon opening but thought it was the change in serving containers. They swapped out the usual round containers for foil pans. Food was still delicious, but I would have preferred to pay more for the usual servings than to be caught short like that. Never a problem with service or cold food, even with curbside pick up food is still hot and fresh after a 20 minute drive home. I know everything is experiencing shrinkage, but this was way too much. So heads up if your doing carry out and expecting the usual portions. I received a email from them asking me to contact them so they would not disappoint me again.
