My first experience with Las Tapatias Cakery was absolutely memorable. I was planning a 21st birthday celebration for my daughter and her cousin and we wanted a beautiful cake with great flavor as well. We are not from the Rockford area, but were planning the celebration there so we wanted to pick up a cake in the area. After looking at reviews and doing some research, I decided to go with Las Tapatias, and I’m so glad I did. The cake was almost exactly the same as the picture I sent them for reference, and it tasted amazing! Everyone loved it. If you are happy with Grocery Store bakeries, do not go here. They are far SUPERIOR, but one must pay for the FRESH INGREDIENTS. Their Tres Leches Cakes are not discount. There is a reason: THEY ARE PERFECT and only use the finest ingredients in the state of Illinois. Don't try to find anything equal in Chicago. When it comes to Superior Mexican Cuisine one must be willing to pay for the time it takes and the quality of what goes into the product. I gave the "Atmosphere" rating middle because, well it is a bakery. If you want tables with linen and overstuffed chairs, you will not find it here.
