Sister's Cafe — Restaurant in Rockford Township

The food at Sister's Cafe was good, I had the Denver Omelet with hash browns, rye toast, and some bacon on the side. Everything was cooked well and looked very appetizing.

This was surprising to me because the place looked like a down south, little hole in the wall, mini diner. That is seriously outdated and extremely too tight to navigate in and around to even place an order to go, especially if there is a line. And forget about bringing someone to dine-in that is in a wheelchair or walker. It would be frustrating to navigate in the restaurant and around the tables and definitely the restrooms. All the tables are so close together that unless you are whispering, everyone in the restaurant could hear your conversation. But far as minuses, that is the only thing.

As mentioned, the food was good and priced very reasonably. The lady who took the orders at the register and who also served as the waitress for the whole restaurant was very sweet and took care of my order nicely and precisely.

I'd would definitely go back again for to-go only, I wouldn't dine-in, I couldn't whisper sweet nothings to my wife in there without everyone hearing every word I said, and it's just too tight in there. But maybe others wouldn't mind that. It's...

We usually love it here but today’s experience ruined it for us. The waitress was extremely rude. My daughter wanted to go here and she’s five. That’s the only reason why we didn’t leave. My husband is obviously disabled and he has a medical exemption due to many lung issues. He has a hard time breathing even without the mask. He told her he has a medical exemption and she said I understand but you still need to wear a mask. She also said that the only way we couldn’t wear a mask if if we were completely vaccinated on June 10th and we would have to prove we are vaccinated. That is a complete violation of HIPAA rights. By telling my husband he still has to wear a mask despite his medical exemption it is telling him that they don’t care about their customers with disabilities. We will not be back and will take our business elsewhere from now on.

I should have known by the note on the front door that read. " No money will be returned for food, we will make it right" I ordered a country fried steak with hash browns and eggs over easy. I could only muster a 2nd bite of steak as it had obviously been fried in the same fryer used for their friday fish fry specials. I decided to eat the hash browns instead, they were somehow at the same time dried out and drenched in oil. My girlfriend had no better luck with her Denver omelette and we paid and walked out within 5 minutes of our plates coming to our table. No sense trying to not pay for this disgusting slop as the note on the door had them prepared and this is obviously an issue with this place for them to.post...
