Was pretty disappointed driving through town and trying to stop here.. had my family with me.. we looked up online for the breakfast menu. We arrived and were turned away because it’s a bar. I asked if the cafe/ diner were located elsewhere and was rudely told no and they have never allowed under 21 inside. I asked why it was labelled as a restaurant, cafe, and diner then if it’s just a bar. The man who identified himself as the owner, snapped back saying they have never advertised being those things and I said it’s on google.. he argued with me telling me I was wrong and to pull up the google about it, I kindly told him it wasn’t that big of a deal and I would take our family elsewhere. He then basically chased our vehicle out of the parking lot wanting me to show the evidence. While I understand that it’s a bar and my kids can’t go in, don’t be rude to us, and certainly do not call me a liar. It’s actually labeled at the top of the menu, which is on google, which is why we didn’t think it would be a problem for a family meal.
Moral of this rating, don’t be rude to people. We went down the road and had a great breakfast and even bought some cool soup mixes as well. If I was driving through again, just myself and my spouse, I wouldn’t stop here just based on the previous...
Read moreHoly crap, it's a quansat hut with a faux, olde-timey saloon facade! Who knew? That's a surprise because it's gotta lotta space--inside--you don't expect. I've heard about their burgers for years, and finally got a chance to try, camping nearby. Went with a 'Hulapeno' burger, which is basically a Hawaiian burger with jalapenos infused with the beef. I didn't get any feel of heat with the burger, but it was darned satisfying. Big, big special note for their house Clam Chowder, though. Big chunks of clam, nice and buttery, and a clean finish of bacon; just like I grew up with back East. Real good. FOH/BOH all manned by some savvy ladies, who made sure we had a great lunch. We were...
Read moreFrednecks is easily my favorite Bar/Restaurant! The only downside is that I only get to stop in on my way to the lake 🤷♂️.
I am serious though… It may not seem like much from the outside, but give it a try and you’ll not only get yourself an amazing meal with some good drinks, but the family that owns and runs it will give you the best service you’ve ever had!
Frednecks is also the hot spot for all the locals looking to socialize and get a good meal. But don’t let that turn you away, because I’ve met some great people and had great conversations, but I’ve never had a bad experience.
I’d recommend stopping in anytime you’re in the area, you...
