Willow Tree Donuts — Restaurant in Rockland

The way I RAN to leave this review. I don't even like donuts. My sister had these at an event near her and when she found out the shop was near me she kept telling me I had to try it. I finally made it by today and first impression was really good. There were two young women behind the counter who were incredibly lovely - patient and helpful as I tried to decide from all the options. I picked up apple cider, boston creme, chocolate peppermint, and lemon blueberry. When I tell you I'm almost never impressed by a donut I don't exaggerate, and this was the first time I can honestly say I've enjoyed not one, but four. All four flavors blew me away. So fresh, not too sweet but still sweet enough, bold flavors, and more cakey and light - which is my preference. I think that's why I was so caught off guard and immediately had to leave a review. I love to travel and visit popular/famous bakeries and donut shops and I'm never impressed. From Voodoo Donuts in Oregon to Sweetwater's in Michigan, I will try any highly recommended place but have yet to find one that lives up. Willow Tree lived up! Stumbled upon this place on a Saturday morning drive. I walked in the staff was excited to greet me and tell me about each doughnut that was available. I made my selection and payment was easy. I'm not a huge donut person, theyre pretty good here and there and those overly fancy donuts that seem to be popular now are never as good as they look.
