I do business in this strip mall in Rockland and have been wanting to try this place out since I saw them building this new business.
Well today was the day I finally tried Hatian Food for the first time in my life. Being an avid traveler and eating authentic food all around the Caribbean, DR, South East Asia and other countries, I will say that this is cooked old school with old world flavor. This is not americanized food. The flavors in the spice are reminiscent of pulling onto the side of the road at an outdoor food establishment and being fed the freshest, foods with the spices found in those areas to give those delicious earthy flavors to the food. In my opinion , for me, it's a delicious change of pace and an opportunity to taste authentic foods from other regions of the world when I can't get to visit those countries . I recommend fab 5 if you are looking for something different to eat than just food made to please American palettes. I wish them luck and hope the hard working owners and staff a successful business. Small businesses make America what it is. Please support all small business. Without businesses like this, you will eventually have no choice. Food was delicious. Nice meeting the...
Read moreThe food was ok. I ordered the fried red snapper and the Diri djondjon and the spinach with beef. The fish did not have epis. The seasoning was off. The fish taste like powdered seasoning I think, turmeric. No taste really. They are very cheap with the rice. Had it on a small separate container. Don't expect two meals. The spinich dish they piled it up in that same container. I wish I had more rice not spinach but good amount of beef. The location is in the burb, a couple of blocks from Target and stop and shop at Abington. I will not be going back. No haitian seasoning, not enough taste. Pretty boring. This restaurant, if it was in the city, would not make it. Since it's in the suburb...well, you...
Read moreI was in the area and needed a lot of warming and delicious food to feed hungry teenage boys. The service was great. I should have gotten the 2 men’s names who were working. They gave me great advice on how to get the most food for my money, and they suggested the Mac and cheese as an add on. I ordered the goat. The food for the boys didn’t even make it home, they destroyed their chicken fritay. A favorite was the Marinad, I think it was called.
The goat was really well made. Sauces and the spicy cabbage were a perfect addition.
On top of all this we got so much food and excellent friendly and patient service, teaching me to make sure I learned something too!...
