Chain restaurants seem to not be as they once held ratings captive. Now? Only a few dine in survive, even manage to hold patronizing as very few survive. The Merritt Island Ruby Tuesdays closed forever ago. I somehow forget this location in Rockledge, but I will remember from now on, and return most definitely. Basic front of the house set up, bar and extended tables to the right, seating stand as you walk in, and salad bar directly in front to I assume gaze on while waiting to be sat, stirring hunger all the while, lol.
I must include that the exterior seating area is plentiful, sadly not as filled due to the location of Florida does not allow enjoyment of food and drink outside often. But a nice area is provided just in case I suppose.
Sat immediately, booth in bar area brought notice that although the bar patronize was none existent? The bartender was cheerfully taking tables and ,luckily ours was one. Our server/bartender was fabulous, a rarity in my experience, so happily excepted. Knowledgeable, attentive without being overly present in pushing an order as many lately have provided. Our service was fabulous as mentioned before, I honestly would patronize more often if I could be assured she would be so kind to attend in our visit. Anyway, ordered the crab dip appetizer, and I choose the chicken with bacon & sauce. Accompanied by mixed grilled veggies, & mashed potatoes. Way too much for me to indulge in? But wonderful in later indulging. My companion chose the fish & chips, a fav of his most everywhere we go that does not have eggplant, his favorite. He enjoys his basic choices, hardly ever varying from his options.
The crab dip was served warm with tortilla chips. Good amount of the chips, no need to ask for more to finish. App came out more promptly that expected, yet another pleasant surprise. Oh, I always am a wine order, here basic house red long pour. Loved that is was poured, and an actual correct pour! I know my counts on site, being in the business longer than I would have liked to be. So nothing sets a bad tone for the experience, than a pour being short, n I have to literally say something about it not being such which never leads to a simple admission n apology & repour. No, always a long drawn out manager called stupidly drawn out experience ending in my being correct when measured, and my eating experience wasted as I only want t o go after all that wasted energy. So explains why the correct pour made me happy, thought I should include. Companion had a soft drink. Directly after app was finished and well timed our entrees came out! So nice to have the flow continue as it did from kitchen to table, rarely happens but on the occasion it extends? Just love the experience and honestly makes the entirety all that much better!
My entire entrée was tasty, the veggies still standing as hate the overly cooked flimsy wilted versions. Mashed potatoes are just good, hard to mess up and a good accompaniment for most any option. Chicken breast was grilled perfectly, as the bacon, sause was flavorful. All a nice meal. Companions fish and chips must have been tasty, as in a matter of moments? They were gone, and the smile said tasty without words.
A Togo box was requested and appeared immediately, as the check requested after dessert declined. The amount was surprisingly reasonable given the order, impressive by other experiences lately! Surprised there was no tip intimidation, something happening all too much I feel, What I mean by this and my feelings only? I find I'm asked what presentage would I like to add, Accompanied by a strong stare while I attempt t o figure out in my non mathematical brain what is what and due to the stare? I most often don't provide what I would have had this little unpleasant encounter posed. None of that here. Grateful! Tipping more than I have in quite a while, as worth even more in all. Everything was better than ever anticipated, smiling as we drove away.

Read moreMy husband and I were looking forward to a night out without the kids and we were so disappointed. First when I said I wasn't ready to order the waiter stood over me asking me questions trying to pick what I wanted instead of giving me time to read the menu until I finally just picked something so he would walk away. We were the only people in the section and the hostess seats another family at the table right next to our booth so close that I had to ask the lady to move a bit so I could get out to go to the salad bar. We couldn't even have a conversation because the other family was so close that at a whisper they could hear every word. Not that it mattered because the waiter came back every 10 seconds and stood there talking interrupting us. He was so rude that when I didn't care for the salad dressing and didn't eat my salad he made comments about it to me and made jokes about me to my husband. I got the shrimp and it was overcooked and rubbery. My husband had chicken that was very dry even with the sauce on it. The waiter brought a box and boxed up my husbands food and started to walk away, stopped and asked if I wanted to take my leftovers. At that point I didn't care and said no. When it came time to pay the bill I paid in cash and handed the waiter the check folder. When he brought it back to the table with the change he set it in front of my husband, I reached across the table to pick it up and the waiter took it out of my hand and gave it back to my husband. I have never been treated so poorly or had such a rude waiter. I would not recommend this restaurant and I can't believe that this is how they operate. We will NOT be returning. I paid a decent amount of money to enjoy a night out with my husband, which is a rare opportunity for us and was interrupted more than if I had stayed home with my kids. We had complete strangers sitting on top of us commenting on our conversation with the waiter and were treated with so much disrespect. We were going to ask for a manager but at that point we were both upset and knew it wouldn't be handled well and just wanted to leave. It had been over 10 years since we had been to a Ruby Tuesday because our last experience was not good and we thought maybe a new location would be better, I guess this is a...
