We booked this hotel since we were traveling from south Louisiana for my best friend's wedding in Cocoa. We chose this hotel because the location was great and it was cheaper than other options in the area. After our stay, I really think it would have been worth the price increase to stay elsewhere.
After driving 12+ hours, we arrived around 6:30pm on Wednesday night. The concierge, that evening, Malik, appeared to be extremely under the influence. When my husband tried to check-in, Malik told him we did not have a reservation in the system, even though my husband could visibly see his reservation pulled up on the computer. My husband showed him our hotels.com confirmation email AND the message sent from Woodspring confirming our booking. He then proceeded to tell my husband that hotels.com must have overbooked because they did not have any available rooms. He left the desk for a hot minute and then returned to say there was a room, but it had not been cleaned and wasn't ready yet. Mind you, this was at nearly 7pm at this point. After almost 30 minutes, I walked into the lobby. My husband explained the situation, and I told Malik I didn't understand what the problem was because at first he said we didn't have a reservation at all, then he said the hotel overbooked and they had no rooms, but then there actually was a room but it hadn't been cleaned yet, even though check out is at 11am daily and this was at 7pm that night. He then replied, "Oh, actually, I just remembered, someone checked out this afternoon and I forgot to close out the room in the system." So after over half an hour of nonsense, he magically had a room available and ready. He then gave us our bill but my husband had to ask him for room keys because he didn't give us any. After all of that, I received a notification on our hotels.com that we had checked in. Wild considering we apparently "didn't have a reservation".
While the rooms were fine since this is a brand new hotel, we stayed here for 4 nights and our room was never once cleaned. We had to ask for towels daily and our trash cans were overflowing because they were never emptied. We also had to check a hairdryer out from the front desk because there are none in the rooms. The walls are also paper thin and we were kept away on more than one night by screaming children and guests slamming doors or beating walls in the middle of the night.
We travel to this area fairly often since our best friends live in the area, and while we normally stay at their house, I can assure you if we ever need a hotel in the area again, we will not be staying here. It is absolutely not worth the nearly $800 for 4 nights that we paid. I would not recommend this...

Even after you've successfully made it into the lobby (which is an unpleasant glass box) you still have to go through another heavy door that requires a key card to open. Very unwelcoming and feels more like you're trying to go visit someone in prison rather than a hotel. The smell is also off putting. For a hotel less than 7 months old, it seems foul smelling. When I finally made it to my room, I opened the door to see a room that resembled a hospice facility, only those are usually much nicer and have better lighting. The room lacked any warmth whatsoever. The mattress sat atop a wire rack with nothing to disguise this. Some photos on their website show a fabric dust ruffle or something to hide the fact that there is no box spring. The mattress itself was so hard and uncomfortable that there was no position I could contort myself into that made sleeping peacefully an option. The bright light coming from the parking lot blasts right through the cheap blinds as there are no curtains whatsoever. If you plan to stay here, know that you will see many people hanging around outside smoking, and it all feels sketchy. If you're looking for a place to spend a night, go to Viera where you'll find several much better options, or even just sleep in your car...you'll...
Read moreBooked a 7 night stay and paid the total at check-in with a promise a deposit would be refunded within 3 weeks. The refund never came, and upon reviewing the paperwork, the hotel had charged a late fee at the day of check-out and refunded it, and charged for an extra day. After a week of fighting for a one night refund I have been told we requested the extra day at check-in (not true), and it was relayed that the General Manager will not be refunding it because we requested the extra day. They checked video to show leaving on the check-out day, but nothing else. The managers do not return any calls. The staff that appeared to be helping were actually full of lies. Stating they bothered two different managers at home and my issue would be address the following day. Never happened. We actually wanted to shorten our stay at the time, but since we had paid ahead, we endured the uncomfortable bed. Customer service is absent, and fabrication of who added the extra night is our fault. So, even though it's a great location, beware as they will not help if they make an error. We did everything thing we could, but have been virtually slapped by management. They represent Choice hotels poorly. POST THEIR RESPONSE: They are cheats! They have no intention of looking into anything. Their response is bull crap! We did not change our checkout date. Based on other reviews - it's not the first time that someone wasn't checked out. It's...
