Firstly, the food here is absolutely on point! I had the fish tacos and they were AMAZING! The wait staff is wonderful, the restaurant (and restrooms!!!) Are clean, and the decorations are on point!
Also, the owner is so generous. This was our first night taking the electric car out camping, but unfortunately we got lost trying to find the campsite and were getting low on battery. This awesome woman not only let us use her outlet to put some charge on our vehicle, but she took also took the time to show us the way to th le campsite that we had missed!
Thanks to her, we were able to put more charge on our vehicle at the campsite, make it to the bat tour at the Devil's sinkhole (which I recommend even outvof season if you're in the area! So cool!), and enjoy the stars back at the campsite. This wonder woman saved our night, and we cannot thank her enough!!!
P.S.!! Even after our fiasco, we still plan on going out camping with our electric vehicle lol. Don't let our story scare you! There are plenty of charge ports through out the country, we just missed the campsite 1 too many times trying to find it and started getting range anxiety when we only had 60 miles left . Definitely have your different plugs like your 110 and 220s! Also, if you travel to Rocksprings and you have Verizon, be prepared- you WILL lose service all throughout that area-- we probably didn't have service for at least 50 miles. The folks in town are nice, so be polite and humble when you ask to use their phones to call whoever...
Read moreMy friends and I were passing through and asked for recommendations at the convenience store about dinner. There was only 3 places in town that were open for dinner. One was a burger place that didn't have a single car, so we passed on that (we figured that if the locals weren't going there, why should we). The second was a Mexican food place, and they were packed. We should have just waited there. The last was this place. They weren't too busy, so we decided on this place. Overall, the food was ok. The waitress was ok (not really friendly, but not quite to the point of rude). She was overwhelmed. It isn't her fault that there wasn't enough help. But, we had to wait forever for the food. We had been traveling for a while and were super hungry. We probably should have just waited at the Mexican food place. Oh ya, there was a pool table. We didn't play. The bathroom stalls were interesting. I've never seen...
Read moreService, food quality, and bathrooms are a bust. There’s a sign by the kitchen that says that the food takes a long time. If you see that and say “well maybe it won’t be that long,” just keep driving. I was there for 2 hours with a party of 3. It took 1.5 hours for a plate of 6 small hush puppies to come out. I ordered the huevos rancheros and it came out with so much water(?) on the plate. It was so wet. We saw the sweet potato fries lying in an open bag on the floor in the kitchen. Hope to post a photo. The bathroom. I didn’t take any photos but trust it is not friendly to women. The stall “door” is a burlap sack that starts fraying once it’s even with the toilet seat, so if somebody else goes in there, they could see everything from the waist-down while you do your business. It’s on a curtain rod—why not just use regular curtains??? Floor-length curtains? A...
