Sledgehammers — Restaurant in Rockvale Township

Been there a half a dozen times. Always sparsely populated. Maybe 5-10% full. Overpriced drinks. Five dollars for a Popov well Vodka and fountain coke at happy hour. I think the last time was my last time.

That being said I received an angry response from the owner. He told me the place is slammed in the summer (I hope it is!) he ask me to come back and check it out then. He then changed direction and ask me not to come back in the summer. He believes I will then complain about his establishment being too busy and I will have no place to sit.

I wish this business, and all the employees, well. I hope they all make copious amounts of money and have a wonderful time doing it. I will, however, heed the owners advice and not come back to his establishment.

Five dollar Popov's and a rude owner, I'll pass. Hopefully someplace else will happily accept my business. Best of luck and I wish you well!

Stopped there on my ride to the Blackhawk Chief statue, to grab something for lunch. Even though they advertise as a restaurant, i was told food was not served that day, mind that no one noticed me for almost 10 minutes. Not a good experience at all... Waited 10 minutes by the bar, while waitress socialized with other customer, texted on her phone and then she realizes I am standing there (btw. all customers were outside, maybe handful inside). With boat docks just before the north bend. A phenomenal view with the Blackhawk Statue across the rock river. Along side the paddle wheel Inn. Offering a safe place to stay in.
