I have been meaning to visit Quincy's Bar and Grill in Potomac for a while, specially since they closed their Bethesda location about a year or so ago. They also have another location in Gaithersburg, which was recently expanded and remodeled, but I will leave that one for another occasion. I went on a Saturday afternoon and it had a fair amount of people both at the tables and at the bar. I chose to sit sat at one of the bar's counter tops by a set of windows that, strangely, look out at the bottoms of trees. The place is sparsely decorated, and the bar takes center stage, as it is typical of these type of neighborhood sport bars that also are a restaurant. Multiple giant TV screens constant show different sports, and there were whole families, couples and the odd drinking buddy pairs scattered throughout. The place is very clean, and there are plates and cutlery at the tables. However, after a server sat me at the table top, I waited for about 15 minutes, and didn't get greeted, given a menu or asked what to drink. I feel that, out of my whole experience, service is the area where Quincy's Potomac needs some improvement. One of the servers did come to my table top, and I got a menu and a beer from their tap offerings. Sports bars live and die by their chicken wings and burgers, so I decided I was going to try both. My order of wings came freshly fried and hot. I ordered half Parmesan and garlic flavored, and half blackberry habanero. The wings came with some of the traditional celery and carrot sticks, and an excellent blue cheese dressing. I had asked for the wings to be extra crispy and ordered extra veggies, but neither the wings seemed extra fried, nor did it appeared to me that I got extra celery or carrots (I got three of each). Then I had to ask the server for napkins and wipes (sports bars should give those automatically with every wing order). I want to emphasize that my server was friendly, attentive and nice... But the waiting for check in table service upon arrival, having to ask for napkins or wipes, that can be improved. The wings were huge and indeed delicious, specially the blackberry habanero wings, which were not specially super spicy. My second course was their double smashed burger, which I asked without a bun and tater tots as a side. The burgers arrived, and were of decent size, and no bun (thank you!) and as if to compensate for the lack of bread, an insane amount of perfectly fried and hot tater tots! Quincy's delivered in food, flavor and quantity, but needs to work a little bit on service small details that sets apart a good from an...
Read moreThis was my favorite spot but the food quality has gone way down hill over the last months, we are all so disappointed in this establishment now. We would prefer the prices raised instead of getting crappy quality food. Now the burger buns are cheap, tiny and looks like they're from the dollar store. They changed the batter on the cheese curds and now it's inedible, the taste isn't there at all. Food info is continued at the bottom.
They have a great happy hour, bar games such as trivia, karaoke, bingo, family feud. Best week night go to in the area! It can be very noisy at night so if that is not your thing I would avoid this place after 7pm.
Now let's talk about the food, my burger has always been juicy and cooked properly to my asking. The flatbread are good. The french dip is good and comes with the horseradish on the side, the au jus reminded me of beef bullion, last time I had it, the meat was over cooked and dry.
The battered & fried shrimp was beyond overcooked and inedible.
The nachos are loaded but came soggy from all of the toppings. The giant pretzel was tasty and served with cheese and a spicy queso, the cheeses were quite firm though and was hard to dip. The beer battered cheese bites were absolutely delicious and if you like cheese I recommend getting this, it's so good my mouth was watering.
As far as sides go, the fries are fine, the crinkle fries came cold. The tater tots are super crispy and a fan favorite for everyone. The mac & cheese was bland and didn't have any cheese sauce, I don't recommend it, I couldn't even eat it.
Recently tried this place again and the wings were awfully bland. The parmesan garlic wings is just Kraft parmesan. The ribs were not fall off the bone.
⚠️ allergy alert! They plate the wings on lettuce. It also gets very loud in here so if you have hearing issues I do not recommend this place.
Unfortunately the staff has been more neglectful. Once they realize that you are there for bar activities, don't expect good service anymore. My waitor visited us once and hour and I had to go get him from the kitchen while we waited for drinks (that were waiting on the bar for us) as he chatted and laughed with his coworkers. In addition to that, our waiter would not clear the plates and I had to personally go up to him and ask him to take all of the dirty cups and plates off of the table even though we put it right in front of him every time he...
Read moreMy son and I went for the first time last night. Upon arrival we were greeted by a nice guy who asked us if we would mind sitting at a high top. Given the location of the table I saw that it was a great spot for seeing many of the TV's so gladly accepted. Just as he sat us an elderly woman rushed over and, in a hurried and somewhat rude tone of voice, informed us that since it was a table that could seat more people that we may have to share if a large group shows up. I replied that I had no problem with that.
Our menus and place settings were brought as we settled in. As we were looking at the menu, she came over again reminding us that we may have to share the table. Once again, I replied, great, could be fun.
Within another minute the guy came back over and told us he had to move us because the "table was reserved". I did notice just the moment before that she was talking to him and looking our way. He moved us to a 2 top table, which was fine, but then I noticed that they seated a group of 4 on the same high top just as we were moved. It clearly was not reserved but rather she simply managed the situation very poorly. Her surly, rude attitude ruined the evening for us. I will not return and will certainly tell everyone I know about the rude behavior. An evening out at a restaurant should be a pleasant, hospitable experience, not one where we are treated this way.
I will also add that it's a bit on the pricey side for the food quality. Fries were good. Burger was small...
