Pops Diner — Restaurant in Rocky Mount

*Went to Pops today in honor of black-out friday. I’m trying to do better with supporting black owned businesses, but they have to do better supporting me. *

-Initially no vegetables, but later on they had vegetables . (cabbage) When we received the cabbage it was cold and had to ask for them to heat up the food.

-Out of a lot of food. They were out of mac & cheese , hush puppies, but they tried to keep it on the low that they were out of things. For example, they slid one hush puppy under the fries and then when asked where are the rest, they explained that they had none left.

-Overall, I believe pops could one day be a 5 star business if they would inform their guests on items that they run out of. And also provide some type of discount for paying customers....

Travelling back from OBX and heading to Tennessee, we pulled off the highway and floated through town. A bright red awning captured our attention. We enjoy stopping at Diner's and pulled into Pop's Diner. They didn't disappoint. Simple menu with quality product and perfectly cooked. We ordered the all beef hot dogs with chili which was superb! Onion rings and seasoned fries very tasty at a reasonable price. Diner was clean, restrooms were clean. SERVICE was excellent with great atmosphere! Employee's were cordial with each other, laughing and joking which leads one to believe they don't mind being at work.....rare for these days. Prices very reasonable. Good luck Pop's! Thanks...

I was not too sure about Pop’s because I knew Central Cafe was always so good but I was pleasantly surprised! First of all, the service was excellent! The waitress, Leigh, was on point. She was professional but friendly, efficient & she really knows the menu & the food. Great service!! I had a cheeseburger & it was hand pattied and was cooked perfectly, juicy & good! I love slaw on my burger but not all slaw is good. Well Pop’s Cole slaw is perfect slaw for burger & hot dog toppings and would also be good with their flounder. Also, they have old school crispy crinkle cut French fries. Overall, A+ and 5 stars on everything. I would recommend you give it a try & I believe...
