Little Town Italian- It offers great potential to be an amazing restaurant. Yet, in my opinion, it is missing little nuances, such as better communication between the hostess and waiting staff. During my experience with my family, we had to wait at least 10 to 15 minutes to be asked "What we wanted to drink?" A couple of tables had gotten seated and their drink came in after us, which seemed a little bit inconsiderate. However, I do have to say, once our waitress came and got our order she was the saving grace for this experience. She offered top-tier service from apologizing for our wait to giving us a little background knowledge about the chef and answering our questions. Although the food seemed to be made authentically, which I appreciate, it seemed to me the prices were not reasonable for the portion. I wish I had an extra scoop of spaghetti; therefore, I could bring leftovers for lunch the next day. Also, the sauce is a little bit too acidic for my liking, yet if that is how authentic Italian is made then keep it. Also, we felt that the bread should've come with the meal as well. Lastly, the atmosphere had a nostalgic facade of an antique shop. The furniture was not uniform and had blemishes on them. I do not have an issue with the rustic theme, I just want uniformity and a place that feels authentic and not pieced together. Overall, the potential is there and I have high hopes for success for this restaurant but they require some changes,...
Read moreI was concerned before going that I wouldn’t have a choice to meet my keto diet restrictions. I checked the menu out before we made reservations. There were a few choices I could select. So I picked lamb and substituted the sweet potato with asparagus. OMG it was the best lamb I ever had in my life ( I am a senior citizen). It was so tasty, tender as could be and cooked about medium rare which it should have been. The sauce on the lamb was a tiny bit sweet and delicious. The asparagus was also cooked to perfection - still bright green and tender. My husband had the chicken parm and spaghetti. He is a man of few words but all I got out of him was it was very good. My girlfriend got the Salmon on top of vegetable hash. She really enjoyed it. I tasted the salmon and it was delicious. The serving of vegetables hash was impressive. The price was a bit high for this area but was well worth it. My 4 rating for the atmosphere was due to the cold weather outside; when the outside door opened you got a cold blast. The lighting was good and with the restaurant was about 80% full but the noise level was low enough that we could hear each other and waitress without raising our voices. We got to meet one of the owners, Tawni who was very nice and we enjoyed chatting with her. We will definitely...
Read moreLittle Town Italian has been on my radar for about a year ever since reading glowing reviews on the Knoxville Foodies Facebook group. It is well-worth the drive if you are looking for authentic Italian food with homemade pasta and sauces!
My husband’s favorite dish is lasagna which the restaurant only serves occasionally on special. I messaged the restaurant a few days prior to our visit and made a special request and they said they would have it on the night we made reservations! Talk about 5-star customer service!
The restaurant’s atmosphere is perfect and our servers were very attentive throughout the night. We ordered lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, focaccia bread, and flourless chocolate cake. The flavor profiles of both pasta dishes are unbeatable. It brought back memories from my trip to Italy so many years ago which isn’t surprising since the chef is originally from Italy.
I don’t think I’ll be able to eat at another Italian restaurant in East Tennessee and be satisfied, after visiting Little Town Italian-it...
